RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Working in Collaborative Mini-Grids for Prediction of Viral RNA Structure and Evolution project funded by Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. Have developed mini-grid runtime infrastructure and programming API that provides a computing space appropriate to current application and resource context. The infrastructure can be run on a volatile infrastructure where resources can come and go at their own will. The infrastructure allows non-technical scientists like biologist to interactively use a grid in their daily work. Have developed context-aware scheduling algorithms providing quality of service guarantees by adopting market-oriented resource management system. Ontology and semantic technologies have been used for meta-data management. Involved in integration of the framework with CLC Bio Workbench for advanced bioinformatics. Involved in deployment and evaluation of mini-grid enabled CLC Bio Workbench at iNano research centre, Aarhus, Denmark. Project leader for Grid Resource Management System using Semantic Technologies, a project that aims at using semantic technologies for better resource management, funded from CDAC internal R&D core fund. Involved in the design and development of Semantics Based Computational Resource Broker for Grid, proof of concept working prototype. Project leader for GT4 PERMIS Authorisation Service, a project that aims at using PERMIS authorisation infrastructure for accessing Grid resources deployed using GT4 middleware. Associate project leader for CCDN (Community based Content Delivery Network), a project that aims for efficient content delivery over a content delivery network by

moving the content near the user. The CCDN project has two sub parts namely ECKO (Empowering Communities through KnOwledge) and VCAN (Virtual Community Aware Networking). ECKO is a framework for building and nurturing E-communities. It provides a platform for creating, using, and sharing information among and across the members of E-Communities. V-CAN is an overlay peer-topeer network that provides a distributed environment for Community Information Systems, and knowledge networking capabilities with the help of Content Management Services. [Refer http://www.ictrt.org.in/modules.php?name=Pages&pa=showpage&id=10]. Involved in identification of content needs of the end user; design of the user interface by iterative development; evaluation of usage of ECKO, the content management system; design, deployment and evaluation of V-CAN system; and identification and implementation of the polices, roles and responsibilities for efficient usage of the system. Led project development of ebXML (electronic business XML) Messaging System for SeT (Secure electronic Treasury). The ebXML messaging system is used to carry data between all the components of SeT in the ebXML format with reliable message transferring and error handling mechanism; message status report and message transfer. [Refer CDAC Annual Report 2002-03, pp. 13]. Involved in project management activities and evaluation of developed prototype against the required standard. Designed and developed a Network Management System NASMON (Network Application and System MONitoring), a prototype system for Monitoring and Managing the Network based on functionalities using SNMP. The uniqueness of our prototype lies in the architecture; functionalities based network management approach, and Inference Engine. [Refer CDAC Annual Report 2002-03, pp. 23].

5. MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY Defined and initiated Grid Resource Management System using Semantic Technologies project. Responsible for interacting with Anna University, Chennai, India in the above project. In-charge of deployment of Grid infrastructure in Chennai region, India in Garuda Nationwide computational grid infrastructure project funded by the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Govt. of India. Managed development and deployment activities in Community based Content Delivery Network CCDN project funded by Development Gateway Foundation (DGF), USA. Mentored and monitored ebXML (electronic business XML) Messaging System part of SeT (Secure electronic Treasury) project. Head of the department, Department of Computer Science, VHNSN College, India. Member of college academic council, VHNSN College, India. Conducted various seminars and workshop in Networking technologies and Software Engineering in various Universities.
