Introduction

PGDSM is a Distance Education Program with 2 semesters spread across 1 year.

Certification
The program consists of two term - end examinations and a project. On successful completion of both exams and project, students will receive the Post Graduate Diploma in Stock Markets jointly from BSE Institute Ltd. and IGNOU [UGC Circular No. F.1-8/92(CPP) dated February, 1992]

The program fee for the PGDSM program is as follows: For Indian students: Rs. 45,200 + 12.36% (Service Tax + Education Cess) For International Students: $3,500 + 12.36% (Service Tax + Education Cess) Examination fees will be charged at Rs. 60 per course exam separately, as per IGNOU rules.

Quantitative and Statistical Techniques for Financial Markets

In this module students will learn to apply economic theories to the financial markets. They will learn financial economics including the ideas, scope and tools of finance. Further, they will also understand the fundamentals of company investment decisions.

Derivatives

Corporate finance is a separate domain within finance. For professionals looking forward to a career in the stock markets, it is important to have an understanding of corporate finance. Students will learn about fund raising, mergers and acquisitions, and investment decisions of the company.

Derivatives are an important tool for hedging risk. It is one of the instruments that are used in all markets within the finance industry be it capital, commodity, stock or currency markets. In this module, students will learn about the principles of derivatives, credit derivatives and the applications within the various markets.

Debt Markets

Forex Markets

Debt market is where both, the company and the government borrow funds from the market to fund their venture. This is one of the biggest markets in the country. Here students will learn about the bond market, gilt edged market and the future of these markets.

Forex markets will cover the currency market in detail starting with the evolution of these markets upto the functions and operations.

Fundamental & Technical Analysis

International Stock Markets Dynamics

In this module, students will cover both, the Fundamental & technical analysis to Forecast market trends. The principles will be covered along with its applications.

In this module students will learn about the major international stock markets and their interactions. They will develop an understanding of the influence of these markets, their interplay and the effect it will have on the Indian stock markets.

There are numerous students across the country who are potential financial geniuses but lack the opportunity to explore their abilities and make a difference.
