Dear Adams User, With this release MSC Software proudly presents Adams/Machinery 2012 Beta. Adams/Machinery is a new Adams product fully incorporated in to the Adams/View environment. It contains multiple modeling productivity modules which enable users to create some common machinery components more efficiently than by using the more generic standard Adams/View model construction functionality alone. function Adams/Machinery 2012 Beta contains the following three modules: Gear, Belt and Chain. Adams/Machinery Gear The Gear module wizards provide gear pair creation for the following types of gears: Spur Helical Bevel (straight and spiral) Multiple modeling method options are provided: Coupler Simplified Detailed (for spur gears only) Contact Adams/Machinery Gear also provides a planetary gear set creation wizard. Currently only the Simplified modeling method is available in this wizard. Adams/Machinery Belt A series of three creation wizards guide one through creation of the pulley set, the belt itself, and the system actuator(s). These Belt wizards provide support for the following types of belt systems: Poly-V Grooved Belt Trapezoidal Toothed Belt Smooth Belt Multiple modeling method options are provided: Constraint 2D Links 3D Links

Adams/Machinery Chain A series of three creation wizards guide one through creation of the sprocket set, the chain itself and the system actuator(s). These Chain wizards provide support for the following types of chain systems: Roller Chain Silent Chain (also known as an involute chain) Multiple modeling method options are provided: Constraint 2D Links 3D Links

Please note that this release is supported on Windows 7 and Linux 3232 and 64-bit platforms, and requires FlexLM 11.9. If you have installed Adams 2012 already, you will need to uninstall that application prior to installing the Adams Machinery 2012 Beta software. Alternatively, users of 64-bit machines can co-install 32- and 64-bit programs, for example, bit Adams/Machinery 2012 on Windows 32-bit and Adams 2012 on bit Windows 64-bit. The Adams/Machinery product is licensed as a separate module. Please contact your account manager for details. The MSC Licensing software is now delivered via its own Product Page on the SDC. Installers for the MSC Licensing software are provided on a number of hardware platforms. Delivering the MSC Licensing software separately from the individual MSC products will allow us to provide you updates to the licensing software more effectively.
