: The Relationship between the Schools Facilities with the Students Achievements Education is a basic need for humans. Before the children were educated in the

school, home is a place where the children got the first education with their parents, father and mother, as their teacher. However, no parents was realized that before a child is born into the world, he is already get an education by his mother who pregnant him. How a mother who was pregnant is talking and behaving, the child in her womb will record all the feelings and emotions that released by his mother. This is because during the pregnancy, the brain and the children auditory sensory has started to develop. For example, if a mother who is pregnant is often doing rude and talking impolitely, then the child who will born also will have a bad character and attitude. Otherwise, the child who was born from a mother who is well-spoken and good behavior would be a good boy too. As well as the children character and the behavior, level of intelligence of children can be educated and developed in the womb. Once a child enters school age and schooled in an elementary school, besides parents and their environment, school is one of the very important roles in the educational process of a child. In the school, children will get a new experience that they had never got over their home. Socialize with a new people and see the world more clearly, and of course the childs level of intelligence will continue to evolve with the guidance of the qualified teachers. In this case, an elementary school can be interpreted as the level of education that considered as a basic education. Although we know about the young children educational, but an elementary school is still be the place where the primary education is organized to provide a basic knowledge, attitudes and skills for students. Then this basic educational will then developed to improve the quality of the students themselves. Therefore, to support the intelligence and the quality of learning achievements of the children in the elementary school, there are a few aspects that can contribute to help the children to achieve those accomplishments. From many aspects, besides a qualified teacher who certainly has an important role in improving the children intelligence and achievement, other aspects that are also very dominant in the school, especially in elementary school, is a complete teaching and learning facilities. This is because the elementary school aged children are more interested in things that are real or could be seen and touched by them. So their curiosity will appear and it will make their brain to think more actively.

One of the school facilities that very influential within the enhancement of the student learning achievement is the completeness media of learning. The complete learning media in the elementary school is greatly influence students achievement level. As a simple course, the availability of classroom for the students to study is very influential for them in their learning process. Not only for the elementary school students, but also for the junior and high school students, the availability of the classroom is very influential for their psychology, especially for their learning achievements. Without a classroom, the learning process between the teachers and students also would be very inefficient and ineffective. Imagine if we had to study under the sun from morning until noon, not only the children ages 7 to 12, but also adults may not be able to study with such conditions. Besides classroom, other facilities that should be available in the elementary school to support the teaching and learning activities, that can increase students achievements, is the practice room. A practice room serves as a room where students can explore much knowledge and improve their skills through practice, research and experiment. The existence of the practice room will ease the students to study, especially for the subject that do require the practice to be understood more clearly. For example, in the P.E class, the students only given the theories about what football is, how many players in a football match, what kinds of tools are needed to play football, etc. and it is only the theories without practice. Without a practice space, like a football field for the students to practice football, students in elementary school aged would be difficult to imagine how is the situation while playing football, or how fun playing football is, because they cannot directly feel the game. Because, besides to facilitate students in understanding the lesson, the availability of the practice room, will make the students more interested in a lesson. Otherwise, those lessons would be even more interesting when the students put into practice immediately. Furthermore, the learning media that can also help the students improve their achievements in the classroom, besides classroom and practice room, is the availability of teaching aids or some learning practice tools that can facilitate the teachers in delivering the lessons. Teaching aids is one component of determining the effectiveness of learning. Teaching aids transform the abstract teaching materials become more concrete and realistic. The provision of teaching aids is parts of the students learning needs, according to the type of students learning. Because, for every students has a different learning style. the function of students five senses to improve the effectiveness of students learning by hearing, seeing, touching, and use their mind in a logical and realistic perspective. The purpose of the use of teaching aids itself is to demonstrate an abstract concept into a visual form. Moreover for the students in elementary school aged, they tend to prefer things that are real or can be seen and touched. And it is their basic nature that students in their aged have a big curiosity, and with the availability of teaching aids will encourage students to be more active both in thinking, asking question, and sharing their experiences. In addition, the availability of teaching aids also makes the lesson that delivered by the teacher more meaningful to the students and can improve the students motivation to the lesson that they are learned, and finally creates a qualified learning process that can improve the quality of students achievements. For example, in a music lesson, without the musical instruments, both teacher and students will be difficult to covey and understanding the concept of music itself. For that reason, the musical instruments are needed to support the teaching and learning activities, especially when learning music. So, either classroom, practice room or the teaching aids is needed for school, especially students who study there, to support teaching and learning activities and of course can improve students achievements too. Furthermore, after the availability of the classroom, practice room and the complete teaching aids in the school, a comfortable classroom and practice room are also considered for increasing the students achievements in the school. A fresh and clean class is very affecting students to be comfort studying in the class. Not only in the school, but also at home, if the childrens study room is comfort and the air was cool and clean, children will be more comfortable and feel at home for a long time to study. As well in the school, if their classroom feels cool and comfortable, the teaching and learning process will be more conducive and the students will be more eager to study. To create a classroom conditions that are clean and comfort, it looks like the school did not need to pay that much. Because, only by working together, both the teacher and the students, diligently cleaning the classroom everyday will make the classroom cleaner and more comfortable to be occupied. Then the good and the qualified infrastructure also are the most aspect of the comfortable class to be occupied. The facilities and the infrastructure of a classroom such as desks, chairs, blackboards, floors, walls, windows and the ceilings also need to note to be cleaned. The facilities and the infrastructure should be treated and

kept clean so that the students will be more comfort to study in the classroom. Caring for and maintaining the classrooms facilities are not difficult as it seems. We just need to clean it every day and replace the facilities that have not proper again. For example, tables or chairs that are fragile should be replaced with the new ones, because if it is still used it might be harm the students who sit there. The students can be dropped or punctured spikes from the tables that is porous or cracked. Therefore, it is very important for students, teachers and all schools staff to maintaining the school facilities and infrastructure that they used every day. In addition, it is also may be one lesson for the students to learn about the responsibility with the goods they used and those around them. Besides the room conditions and the infrastructure in the classroom, the number of students in any one class, should not be too dense. Because, the density of the students in a classroom, will also greatly affects the students learning process. With a very dense class condition, the students will be difficult to concentrate in their study that makes them difficult to absorb the lessons presented by the teachers. If it happens, the students achievements will also decrease. For that reason, preferably in a class may only contains about 20 to 25 students. Thus, the class would not be too dense and the learning process will be more conducive for both teacher and the students. And the students will make it easier to absorb the lessons presented by the teacher and their achievements will increase. Besides the adequate facilities and infrastructures, teacher as a facilitator also has an important role for the development of the students intelligence and achievements in the school. The qualified teachers should know and understand about their duty as a facilitator in the classroom. However, without realizing it while teaching in the classroom, teacher is too much dominating in the class. Thus, making the students does not have a chance to speak and express what they have got out of the class. Of course, it makes the most of the students to be passive and less creative. Dominate nature and does not want to listen to the students is the fault of a teacher who does not understand about the meaning of the word facilitator. Supposedly, a teacher who only acts as a facilitator is enough just to listen and do not need to dominate too much in the classroom. Because here the students are the main participants in the learning process, then as a facilitator, teacher must give the opportunities to the students to be more active in the classroom. In terms, students can be more active in speaking and thinking and be able to issue their opinion. In teaching and learning activities, teachers need not merely explain the material to be

presented to the students. Teacher can do a debriefing to the students about the material to be delivered. Thus, students will be able to play an active role by issuing their opinion. After that, teacher can start to explain one by one the material that will be delivered to the students. Besides teacher should listen to the students and not domineering in the classroom, a qualified teacher must be able to create an interesting learning situation in the classroom. It means that teacher must be capable to think creatively and innovatively. Teacher who able to think creatively and innovatively is means that teacher is able to develop a monotonous teaching to be a fun and enjoyable teaching. Teacher should not always be fixated on a textbook. Look for an interesting topic that appropriate for the students or at least close enough to the expected competencies. For example, the students were instructed to look for the most character they delight in. Let the students describe the characters in their own language but still give direction to them. The teacher can also offer the students to acts as a reporter, journalists, or others, and paired with their friend who acts as the famous character. Thus, this method can develop the childrens active and creativity. After that, give praise to the student who has done his part so well. In this case, do not frequently blaming or commenting the students performances, because it will makes them less confident. Give praise before correcting their fault. Provide a productive and interactive comment that can make them smart and full of initiative. This way will allow them to become a confident student and feel appreciated. Besides the two aspects that have said before, as a facilitator in providing education in an elementary school, teacher must be patient in teaching the students, because basically they were just kids. Surely, there are not least of their behavior that might make the teacher become irritated or annoyed because they do not want to obey the teacher instructions. However, the main aspect of learning is a learning process by the students themselves. So, if the teacher is not be patient to see the students less current learning process, and then take over that students process, then it is the same as teacher has seized the students opportunities to learn. Let the students learn in their own way and let them explore their own abilities. Thus, sooner or later they will learn by themselves. Many schools in Indonesia do not have well-equipped schools and professional teachers. Those schools are the government ought to be concerned, even for the communities around the schools. There are several ways to do by school to minimize the shortages. First, if the number of their students is exceeding the capacity of the

classrooms, the schools official can divides the schools schedule in two parts. For example, students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades were school in the afternoon, and students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades were school in the morning. Second, the lack of the schools facilities should makes the teachers works harder. They claimed to think more creative and innovative. If there are no teaching aids, they can create it. For example, take the advantages that the elementary school students likes much, such as drawing colorful pictures and playing games while teaching and learning activities. Teachers can create flash cards as a teaching aid in the learning process. To make a flash card, teacher only need papers and colored pencils. Then teacher can develop it into a game like guessing picture, matching picture with the names or classifying the picture based on their categories. Third, parents and environment also can be very helpful to school to facilitate the students learning space. If the governments assistance is still cannot cover the lack of the facilities in the school, then the schools officers, together with parents and the communities around them can work together to cover the shortages. For example, when the school library is lack of books, they can ask the communities to collect as many as they can to be stored in the library. There are various ways that the schools officer can do to minimize the lack of their facilities when they are willing to think more creatively to help their students improving their achievements. As the school that has been my observation a few days ago, and it is not far away from my house, the facilities in that school are including the most minimum there. Such as lacks of classrooms and libraries. But, this condition does not preclude the possibility that the students who were graduated from this school have good achievements. Although, it is quite behind, but the quality of the students of this school is one of the best. It is caused of the spirit of the teachers who taught there. Although the facilities in this school is lack, but here the teachers are qualified enough, said a teacher. They make the schools storage as the excess. Various ways they have done to improve their students achievements, even with mediocre facilities. However, fact that the school with complete facilities can make their students more accomplished still cannot be denied. With the completeness of the existing facilities in the school, makes the students more active and explorative in improving their quality and academics achievements.
