Gauge
8 sts and 16 rows = 4 inches/10cm in
garter st
To save time, take time to check
gauge.
Little Girls Jacket
Back
Cast on 34 (38, 40) sts, knit across.
Working in garter st (knit every row),
work 1 inch even, then dec 1 st at
each edge [every 6th row] 4 (5, 5)
times. (26, 28, 30 sts)
Work even until back measures 9 1/2
(10 1/2, 11 1/2) inches. Bind off all sts.
Right Front
Cast on 19 (20, 21) sts, work 1 inch in
garter st, ending with a WS row.
Dec row: Dec 1 st (by k2tog), knit to
end.
Continue to dec 1 st at side edge only
[every 6th row] 3 (4, 4) more times.
(15, 15, 16 sts)
Work even until front measures 3
inches less in length than back,
ending with a WS row.

Sleeves

st, inc 1 st at each edge [every 8th
row] 3 (4, 4) times. (20, 22, 24 sts)
Work even in garter st until sleeve
measures 10 1/2 (12, 13 1/2)
inches. Bind off all sts.
Assembly
Sew shoulder seams. Place markers
5 (5 1/2, 6) inches below shoulder
seam on each side. Matching
centers of sleeves to shoulder
seams, sew sleeves between
markers. Sew each sleeve and side
seam in one continuous seam.
Collar
Row 1: With WS facing, skip first 3 sts
at front neck, pick up and knit 7 (7,
8) sts to shoulder seam, 10 (10,
12) sts across back, 7 (7, 8) sts
from shoulder seam around neck to
within 3 sts of front edge.
Row 2: Knit in front and back of first st,
knit to last st, knit in front and back
of last st.
Row 3: Knit.
Rows 4-7: [Rep Rows 2 and 3] twice
more.
Bind off all sts.
Sew button opposite buttonhole. Turn
up sleeves to form cuffs.
Teddy Bears Jacket
Working both fronts at once, cast on
11 sts, drop yarn; cast on another
11 sts using 2nd ball of yarn.
Row 1: Knit across.
Row 2: K2tog, knit to end of first front;
knit across 2nd front to last 2 sts,
k2tog.
Rows 36: [Rep Rows 1 and 2] twice
more. (8 sts rem for each front)
Cast on 4 sts and knit across first front;
knit across 2nd front. Cast on 4 sts
at beg of next row. (12 sts for each
front)
Work even until sleeve measures
3 inches.
Shape neck
Rows 1 and 2: Knit across first front;
bind off 3 sts at beg of next front,
knit to end.
Row 3: Knit.
Row 4: Knit across first front to last
2 sts, k2tog; knit first 2 sts of next
front tog, knit to end.
Row 5: Knit.
Rows 6 and 7: Rep Rows 4 and 5.
Back
Knit across first front, cast on 10 sts for
back neck, cut yarn and tie end to
next ball of yarn, knit to end. (24 sts)
Work in garter st until sleeve depth
measures 6 inches.
Body
Bind off 4 sleeve sts at beg of next
2 rows. (16 sts)
Shape back
Row 1: Knit in front and back of first st,
knit to last st, knit in front and back
of last st.
Row 2: Knit.
Rows 36: [Rep Rows 1 and 2] twice
more. (22 sts)
Bind off all sts.
Finishing
Sew sleeve and side in 1 continuous
seam.
Collar
Row 1: With WS facing, leaving first
and last 2 sts unworked, pick up
and knit 20 sts around neck.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: Knit in front and back of first st,
knit to last st, knit in front and back
of last st.
Rows 4 and 5: Rep Rows 2 and 3.
Bind off all sts.
Sew button to left side of jacket. Button
will fit between sts on right side to
close.
