MATLAMAT (GOALS) : To develop an understanding and skills of fluid mechanics fundamentals including (1)basic concepts of fluids, (2)hydrostatics and kinematics fluid, (3)momentum and forces in fluid, (4)flow in pipes and problems in pipe system, (5)dimensional analysis and similarity. SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS) : With basic principles in fluid mechanics, engineers can study and analyze all sorts of fluid-related problems, ranging from application of static and dynamics of fluid to pipe networks. This course introduces students to the principles of fluid mechanics and application of the theory to typical civil engineering problems including flow in pipes, fluid measurement, and calculation of fluid forces. Scope of study includes introduction to basic fluid mechanics, analysis of flow, conservation principles, dimensional analysis and similitude, surface flow, flow in conduits and compressible flow. HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES) : Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Analysis the static and dynamic of fluid based on conservation of energy, momentum and mass principles 2. Perform orally the given problems 3. Respond in group effectively in order to solve uniform/non-uniform flow problems ISI KANDUNGAN (CONTENT) : MINGGU (WEEK) 1 -2 KANDUNGAN (CONTENT) 1.0 PROPERTIES OF FLUIDS 1.1 Introduction to the basic concepts of fluid mechanics. 1.2 Definition of fluids.
