Full Time Employment 1) Aside from salary, what benefits are offered to employees such as retirement, 401K matching, stock options, or company facilities?

a. We provide 100% Paid premiums for your and your eligible dependents to participate in the companys Medial and Dental Plans. We also provide an Automatic Company contribution to 401k of 3.5% and Company Match of an addition 4% of your pay. Our paid time off program includes 15 days of vacation, 10 sick days, 3 personal business days, 1 community service day and 11 paid company holidays. $5,250 of Education Assistance is also available for successfully completed pre-approved classes.
2) Do you offer any leadership development programs for students interested in pursuing leadership roles?

a. We do not have a structured leadership development program.


3) Do you offer a technical career track that allows for career and pay advancements that compare to a management track? If so, explain the similarities and differences.

a. We do offer high level technical roles. We call them Consulting and Senior Consulting roles. We also have a Chief Technology office. The CTO is where our most talented engineers create the products of the future. Front line and second line managers are also required to be very technical and have strong leadership skills.
4) What are the promotional opportunities for the positions available and what are the average time frames for these promotions?

a. Promotional opportunities are available locally in our office in RTP as well as internationally in our locations in Sweden, China, India and Japan. Sony Ericsson is a performance based culture so the time frame for promotional opportunities is largely dependent on your ability to perform exceptionally in your current position.
5) Is an advanced degree such as a Masters required or valued at your company?

a. A Masters degree is usually not required by very certainly valued.

Inter/Co-Op Employment 1) What are the statistics of co-ops/ interns receiving full time offers?

a. About 5%
2) Do you provide housing or relocation expenses for your co-op/internship positions?

a. No
3) What are the Visa and/or Security clearances required to work as an intern or CoOp?

a. We do not require a Security clearance and do hire international students as long as them meet U.S. employment requirements. 4) What are examples of specific assignments and responsibilities for the available
positions?

a. We hire roughly 40 co-ops a semester. The assignments are typically in Software and Hardware test, Software Development, Hardware Development, and Mechanical Engineer. Each role holds different responsibilities. Co-ops at Sony Ericsson complete real and impact work. 5) How is performance evaluated, how often, and by whom in the company? a.
