PREFACE
This Standard was prepared by the Standards Australia Committee CH/1 for Laboratory Glassware and Related Apparatus as a revision of AS 2246 1979. The objective of this Standard is to provide specifications for a range of conical flasks and boiling flasks used in the laboratory. This Standard differs from the previous edition in that the 150 mL conical flask and the 300 mL boiling flask have been deleted. Flask dimensions have also been modified to accord with those being considered for ISO/DIS 1773, Laboratory glassware Boiling flasks. Appendix A and Appendix B have been replaced by new appendices which reflect the text of ISO 719, Glass Hydrolytic resistance of glass grains at 98C Methods of test and classification and ISO 718, Laboratory glassware Thermal shock and thermal shock endurance Test methods respectively. The term normative has been used in this Standard to define the application of the appendix to which it applies. A normative appendix is an integral part of a Standard.
