About Us...
Jesus and Mary College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi, was founded in 1968 by the Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary, a religious congregation founded by Saint Claudine Thevenet in Lyons (France) in 1818. The aim of Jesus and Mary College is to make God known and loved by means of Christian education for all social milieux in keeping with the concern which St. Claudine Thevenet had for the young and the poor. The College, therefore, offers an integrated, all round education, which focuses on the intellectual, cultural, moral, social, and spiritual aspects of development.

VII. Master of Arts: Hindi & English


Students have to seek admission by applying directly to the University of Delhi. Classes will be held in the University. Tutorial classes are held in the college.

Remedial Courses
UGC sponsored additional classes for the minority, SC/ST and weak and other backward students
This programme is sponsored by UGC and introduced in Jesus and Mary College in 2005 Classes are conducted for various subjects like English, Science, Mathematics and Computer Students can avail of the text books needed for these classes The extra classes are conducted regularly by the teachers of the concerned departments All those who scored less than 65% in class XII in English, Mathematics and Science must attend these classes from 1st August every year Needy students, especially minority SC/ST are also taught Computer Skills We have been successful in helping the weaker students. They are given some help regularly to cope with the subjects they find difficult. These subjects are essential in todays globalized world, and competence in these subjects gives students an added advantage.

This course will introduce the students to the nuances of the global job opportunities in Corporate Communication & Public Relations functions.

The programmes for all the courses will be conducted from August to December 2011. Jesus and Mary College Professional faculty from other Institutions Rs. 12,000 per programme. Fees to be paid along with the college fee Fees once paid will not be refunded. Attendance: Seventy percent attendance is required. Certificates will be awarded to students who successfully complete the programme.

Admission Procedure
The college will accept only Jesus and Mary College online admission forms available at http://www. jmc.ac.in from June 4th, 2012. Prospectus available on college website http://www.jmc.ac.in. The candidate should read all the instructions and criteria for admission to various departments given on the college website carefully before filling the online form An applicant can fill only one form, 3 preferences can be marked on one form. Student who fills more than one form will be disqualified even at a later stage Students applying under sports category shall be required to appear for sports trials along with all original documents/certificates on 19th,20th and 21st June 2012, the schedule of sports trials shall be put up on the college website / notice board on 4th June 2012. Minimum eligibility for appearing in trials is I/II or III position at the zonal level. Students applying under ECA category shall have to appear for ECA trials along with all original documents /certificates on 21st and 22nd June 2012, the list of shortlisted candidates along with schedule shall be put up on college website/notice board on 20th June 2012. Admissions will be done according to the rules and regulations of the institution and the Delhi University and the decision of the college in this regard shall be final. The cut off lists of the selected candidates will be put up on the college website/notice board as per the Delhi University schedule. At the time of admission ,the selected candidate will be required to : (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) Fill the Admission Form, affixing one passport size photograph on the form. Provide one more passport size photograph for the Identity Card. Submit a Medical Certificate of fitness issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner. Orientation Programme
Orientation Programme is conducted for the newly admitted students to enable them to get to know the working of the Institution, the rules and regulations of the college, teachers of their departments, and to introduce them to the functioning of the library, the canteen and other administrative work.

French / Spanish Certificate Course ( The minimum number of students Required to conduct the course is 40 ) 5,000.00

Fees for Optional Course have to be paid for the full year and will not be refunded. In case the course gets cancelled due to lack of minimum number of students, fees will be refunded. Forms are available in the Accounts Office. 1. Tution Fee is payable in one instalment at the time of admission for new students and by 31st August for all other students. 2. A fine of Re. 1/- per day will be charged after the date on which fees are due. 3. A re-admission fee of Rs. 5/- will be charged from students who fail to pay fees within 30 days of the date on which fees are due. 4. The University Examination Fee is to be paid per semester. Late fee will be paid as per university norms.

College Regulations
1. When a student seeks admission to the College, it is assumed by the College that she has an earnest purpose. She is expected to aim at the highest achievement in every sphere and to conduct herself in a responsible and dignified manner wherever she may be. 2. By joining the college the student is bound by all its Rules and Regulations. 3. She also commits herself to participate in attending extra-curricular and inter-college prgrammes, besides attending 2/3rd of the lectures and tutorials, to be eligible to do the University examinations. 4. The Principal reserves the right to take appropriate action: Suspend/Expel students found guilty of any kind of indiscipline as laid down in the University Ordinance XV-B and College rules. Ragging is a punishable crime and students found guilty can face expulsion (Supreme Court Order). 5. JMC is a nonsmoking zone and smoking within the college premises or near the college is strictly prohibited. 6. There is a Sexual harrassment cell in teh college to ensure the safety and security of every student.
