Assignment 1 Part 2
Number and Operation : How do you think it has helped you in your own understanding and in what you with the children I have learnt that when introducing Numeracy to the children you have to do a baseline assessment to understand at what level each child I at. Numeracy activity should be done concretely and through interaction/ participation. I learnt that a variety of materials must be made available for children to explore with in the Numeracy.

It is important for children to be able to count familiar objects which form part of their world at home and school. I have learnt that the importance of linking Numeracy activities to my learning Outcomes and Assessment Standards are essential. I changed the Numeracy activities to meet the needs of my learners. I made each activity more enjoyable and challenging for them.

Part 3 They children can identify numbers 0- 10 They can do rote count from 0-10. They can count from 0-20 They can count backwards from 10- 0 They can count using an abacus and number line. They solve simple addition and subtraction problem using concrete material eg.crayons, blocks, beans ect. They can estimate object and compare it using the words : Heavy- light, more- ess, the same equal. They can identify number names until5, one of the learners can idenfity numbers names from one to ten
