Teachers can also create private classrooms where they assign students to specific hunts. TerraClues hunts can also be shared with other teachers in your school, district, or anywhere in the world. 2. Gabcast Gabcast is a podcasting and audioblogging website that offers an easy way to create and distribute audio content. 3. http://freerice.com/ Free Rice has two goals: to provide English vocabulary to everyone for free and help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free (this is made possible by the sponsors on the site). Free Rice is a sister company of www.poverty.com. 4. http://www.netsmartzkids.org/ Technology is quickly changing the teaching and learning environment. The Internet in particular opens up our classrooms and students to the rest of the world. Netsmartz Kids teaches students about internet safety through fun songs, characters and interactive games. The site does not link to any outside sites. It is safe and easy to use. 5. http://www.fanlala.com/ Social networking is now school networking! Fanlala allows teachers to extend their classroom beyond four walls and onto the Internet. Establish class blogs and promote online interaction and collaboration. Teachers and Parents can work together closely to guide and teach about social responsibility online while increasing classroom learning. 6. http://www.starfall.com/ Starfall is a free learn-to-read phonics website primarily designed for kindergarten through second grade. It is a great resource for struggling readers. Starfall offers beginning readers interactive books, games, videos (complete with fun reading strategy songs). Starfall also offers free downloads of their printed materials which include short readers, writing and phonics journals, and more. 7. http://www.earobics.com/gamegoo/gooey.html Gamegoo features fun educational games that help students develop reading and language skills. When students play Gamegoo games, they are practicing the skills they are learning in class. Gamegoo is great for Kindergarten through third grade (although my fourth and fifth grade students still ask to play the games).

This website is best for 3rd-8th grade. 9. http://www.artsonia.com/ Artsonia is the worlds largest kids art museum where each student in your class can have an online art gallery displaying their masterpieces for free! Artsonia is for pre-school through high-school students. Your students will develop a new sense of pride and feel like famous artists published in a museum 10. http://www.bookadventure.com Bookadventure is a valuable tool for your reading program. Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for kindergarten- eighth grade students. Students can create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books theyve read, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Teachers automatically get students quiz scores in the teacher area. Even if you take the real tour, it is a complex of 19 museums and research centers. For a lot of us, it has to be on the places to visit in our lifetime list. Even though that day is in the future for a lot of us, we can take a peek into the treasures thanks to the virtual tour. 12. http://www.europeanvirtualmuseum.net A collection of items from various museums in Europe have been put up on this portal with the help of 3D images. Visitors can explore the history of Europe through the artifacts and archaeological information linked to them. You can go by the eras, the area, objects, route, or pick up a museum to browse their collection online. When it comes to art, this museum in Paris holds the top spot. The virtual tours of the museum come in snippets which cover different sections of the museum.

The homepage includes several collections you can view online if you havent yet managed a trip to the Vatican City. If you are planning to visit the museum in Japan, check out the virtual tour beforehand. Clicking on the map takes you to the different galleries and you can take a look at the photos of the cars that are displayed there. The only thing thats missing is a bit of historical detail on the cars displayed.
