Part 1 Mike is sitting in a chair in his office of Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is going through certain files.

He is a senior scientist and is working there from last seven years .He is a tall man in his late thirties, with short hairs and smart look. Its 9o clock in the morning and John is about to come. John Ruben is a colleague of Mike and both are currently working on some project. Theres a knock on the door and Mike shouts come in. John a 5 feet 8 inches tall guy with long curly hairs, some of them flying into his face enters the office. Have you finished up with yesterdays work Mike? John asked with a smile. oh! Off course replied mike with a straight face. Then lets go to the lab and have the job done said John. Then Mike carried some papers and put them in a suitcase and both of them left the office. John and Mike were working on a project from last three years. The project was to transform matter into energy and then back to matter. They were handling the project quite successfully, but failed to do it with a living object. So they have developed a new theory and were about to do the experiment. The theme of there project is the quantum mechanics, a great theory by Einstein, Plank and others. They first transform matter into photons. The photons arrange themselves in the form of discrete packets and travel as a wave and reach a specified place through a wire where they are again converted into matter through modern techniques of laser beam. The energy wave can also be made to travel through air as in mobiles. John and Mike had made a significant progress and today they were going to do the experiment on a mouse. They were in their special laboratory of nuclear research institute of USA. The complete project was kept confidential as it was a very important and a dangerous project if fallen into wrong hands. John brought the mouse and kept it inside the machine. Mike fed certain data into the computer. Both had worked very hard on the new theory and were quiet confident about their success. The machine had finished its job. The light blinked on the receiving machine. The temptation was rising in Johns and Mikes mind. John went closer to the machine, pressed a yellow button, the door opened up and the mouse flung on to the floor with a thud. John jumped in excitement and caught hold of Mike who was by now just behind him. Both of them were very happy and unable to express their emotions. Mike entered the data in the computer and also entered each and every component of the machine with all the calculations in the computer and stored that data on a disc. John and Mike wanted to test the machine once again with mouse and then with humans. So they kept the success to themselves only.

Part-2 Two weeks later. There was a huge rush in the nuclear research institute. Everybody was tense and running here and there like some animal had entered the place. But the reality

was something else. John and Mike had not reported since five days. There is no sign of them. The police was also clueless and the search was going on. The CBI was investigating the case. The white house was also buzzing. The president and the whole country were tense. Few high capacity nuclear missiles were missing from the institute. The whole country was in danger. The government had declared a price of 2 million dollars to anyone who gave information about John and Mike. The theft of missiles happened just yesterday and nobody knows how and where they will be used. If they explode in just five areas of the US, the whole country would be finished. The news channels are continuously airing live reports and interviews relating the theft and the future of the country. The newspaper was flushed with the headlines about the nuclear theft. The people were preparing to go somewhere else but most have to adjust in the underground floor because the government had closed all the outgoing routes. The telephone ring of the white house was ringing. A man and answered the phone. He was told to hand over the phone to the president. President Neil Gypsum took the phone. A voice came from there hey presi, dont try to be smart, just give us what we want, and your country will be safe. Who are you? What do you want? were the words from presidents throat. The caller explained I will call you later and give the details and he hung up. The police tried to trace the call. They found out that the call was from Manhattan town, street twelve. They searched the whole area and enquired about it to the local public, but in vain. There was not a single clue left behind. Part-3 Sam is a computer techno. He can hack any site and has upto date knowledge on computers. He also has access to some personal computers of important personalities in US. He cannot be traced back. His aim is to make fast money. Shelly is a scientist graduated from Cal. Tech. university. She is specialized in nuclear technology. Sam and Shelly were in the same university and know each other from those days. Robert is a heavily build man but surprisingly flexible. He is specialized in breaking any security system. Peter is a thin man but very intelligent. He is a friend of Shelly. All these four people have teamed up for making fast money. John doesnt annoy me, Sam said angrily. You cant get out of here. Just dont try to be over smart and be a good boy. Sam how you got that missiles? asked Mike.

You fool scientist are not aware about the security, explained Sam. You entered every data into your computer about your new invention. I had access to your computers and was aware of your projects. I copied your information and we have some special scientist over here who were also working on the same project. So it was easy for them to make the machine from so much information available. You used our machines to get those missiles! exclaimed John. Yes, said Sam. Robert used your machine and reached the Nuclear Research Institute. We were aware of all the security measures. There was an alarm which on taking missiles out gets activated. It takes 12 seconds for security guards to get to the place, but Robert was so quick to get those missiles out, he just had to press the button. You made it so easy. Robert had locked up John and Mike in a warehouse far away from the city and out of anybodys eye. Peter was on the telephone on a street. After dialing the number, he waited for the answer. The president answered. You have just two days to decide. You have to deposit 5 billion dollars into your own account within two days and the missiles will be in their place. Before the president could reply Peter hung up. It seemed very confusing to the president and the CBI as to why they want to deposit money in my own account and why they will risk putting the missiles back in their place. The president called in for an emergency meeting. Part-4

John and Mike were slowly making an effort to get the wire in place. Mike tied the wire with the rod and made it sharp. There were iron bars in the middle of the back wall which could not be seen from the door. They were about to break that bars and escape from that hell. The last iron bar was also cut down and they started running out. First Mike thought that they should directly go to the police. But on one shop while having snacks they found a newspaper with there photos. The police were searching them and they knew that nobody would trust them if they told the whole story as it was. John had a friend who was also a scientist and specialized in communication technology and in deciphering the codes. Michel had full trust in John. John and Mike went to Michel and told the whole story to him. He heard everything patiently and trusted them. Suddenly there was a beep on the Michels computer. They found some unreadable language on their screen. Michel explained, I have a contact with the far world. They send these messages. With lot of hard work I have deciphered the language and today I am going to send them a message for the first time. Michel then typed a message and waited for the reply. After few minutes they heard a beep. Michel exclaimed, Wow! It is exactly the answer of my question. I have done it.

Michel typed some letters again and made some sounds. They again got reply after few minutes. This continued for some time. John saw some pictures on the screen but could not understand anything. After few minutes Michel explained I told them everything. They have very advanced technology. They have send details of a machine by which you would be able to catch them. Come I will explain it to you. John understood everything.

Part-5

There president was very tense as what to do and what not to. One day had passed and he had only 24 hours to decide. They cannot see any solution. So they decided to wait and watch. Finally, president decided to deposit 5 billion dollars. He ordered complete security of the bank and also ordered to keep an eye on the account, so that as soon as the amount gets transferred to some other account, it can be traced. He also ordered a tight security over NRI. In the mean time John and Mike had developed two machines. One of them can detect any matter in the form of energy and the other can convert that energy into matter again and stop its further conversion. Now John and Mike knew the place where they were hiding. They went there and studied the situation over there. They didnt find anyone over there. Then they went to presidents place and found out that the president was going to deposit the money and the missiles would be in place. John told to mike that they can catch them at NRI, but once the money gets deposited they could fly away. They took out one of the machines and scanned for matter in the form of energy. They found out mass movement some 200 km. away from there. They informed the police and told them reach there. They took both the machines and went there in the form of energy. As soon as they were near the culprits they got converted back into matter and used there second machine to transform back into matter and make there machines useless. After few minutes police also arrived there with helicopters and got hold of the culprits. Sam, Shelly, Robert and Peter were sentenced lifetime imprisonment. John, Mike and Michel were awarded for there work in science and saving the country from the big danger.
