Asia is one, big continent. Such is a very distinct landmass. Asia, as the clich goes, is the land of extremes.

Its characteristics are really well-known and embraced as true facts all over the world. With all that it has to disclose and flaunt to all its citizenries, Asia is truly a staggering and implausible place to study and delve into as we continue with our journey as second year students of PSHS. Physical processes create, maintain, and modify Earths physical features and environments. Because the physical environment is the essential background for all human activity on Earth, the geographically informed person must understand the processes that produce these features. Asia before isnt the Asia that we have today since we all know that change is the only constant thing in this world. Through the years that passed, there have been a lot of vicissitudes and variations that occurred to this very big landmass. As a further explanation to that, the Indian Subcontinent could be taken as an example. 200 million years ago, the Indian subcontinent was once connected to the east coast of Africa. As time passed by, the land shifted and cracked and the continents drifted then India slowly crept toward Asia. It was not until 40million years ago that India collided with Asia. As a result, a certain part of Asia crumpled as they met. The land crumpled by the collision was n=pushed upwards and upwards and until now that is still the happening. This event led to the formation of the Himalayas mountains. Himalayas is the highest in the world and is still growing. Another significant part of Asia are the different groups of islands or archipelagos Understanding physical processes enables the geographically informed person to link the personal with the societal, the short term with the long term, and the local with the global dimensions of Earth.
