Stewardship of the Good News

I look at the calendar and am amazed its July! Were already seven months into 2012! But what is more shocking to me is I have been with you for three years! I alternate between where has the time gone?! and I feel like Ive been part of Peace forever! Ive learned so much in the last three years, and as a fresh-out of Seminary pastor, that learning curve was quite steep. Yet, you all have been patient, exceptionally supportive, and extremely receptive to trying new things that may challenge you into a deeper faith. I think that has been one of my greatest joys I have been able to be myself, to dream big with you, to be uncertain, to try new things, and to find Gods grace and forgiveness in the middle of it all. Together, we have revamped the Sunday school curriculum and had a great response from the children, we have brought new life to the youth group, many of whom are heading out on a Mystery Mission Trip this month, we have been reading the stories of our faith in worship and also been challenged to do so on our own, weve had different worship experiences in different configurations, and seen many new faces that we continue to welcome into this body of Christ that gathers at Peace Lutheran Church. The most exciting thing is knowing that God is not done with us! There is new energy and exciting adventures ahead as people step forward and bring ideas to grow in our faith. God is still doing wonderful things, and I am intensely, profoundly blessed to be part of your participation in Gods kingdom. Which is why, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I can tell you with absolute honesty in the words Paul used, I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. (Now, go read the rest of Philippians 1!) With the depth of Christs love, ~Pastor Matthew

Rev. Matthew Rose, Pastor revmatthew@runestone.net cell phone: 218-770-8470 Office: 320-528-2536 email: peacelca@runestone.net Micah 6:8 [God] has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Why do we do Mission Work? Why have we as Peace Lutheran Church choose to spend money and time, sending out our people into the world to do manual labor for someone that we may have never met? Because God invites us to! In Mission work, we live out Micah 6:8 figuring out what it means to Do Justice, Love Kindness, and Walking Humbly with God truly is, thereby deepening our own Faith, and sharing Goodnews that God is present and so are His People! This month, Peace Lutheran sends out 15 Missionaries on Mystery Mission 2012. Please pray for them and those they are going to serve. This year's Missionaries are: Pr. Matthew, Susie Sieben, Mcke Gisi, Andy Thompson, Braeden Long, Lauryn McLaughlin, Cody Buchite, Koel Seifert, Ryleigh Johnson, Erin Caneen, Mary Ann Thompson, Kode Seifert, Devin Schack, Keaton Long, Taylin Schleicher
