VI. Single wire cable, 12/20 kV, lead wire made of Al 185 mm2, XLPE insulation, aluminum strips screen, two fold sheath made of polyethylene and polyvinylchloride Abbreviated designation of the material: Cable 20kV, 1 x 185, Al/XLPE, Al screen, PE + PVC sheath Characteristics of the material: Single wire cable with a nominal voltage of 12/20 kV, with reticulate polyethylene insulation, with aluminum lead wire, with screen made of one or several aluminum strips, applied on a semi-conductor exterior layer. Under and over the metal screen made of one or several aluminum strips there are waterproof strips which prevent the propagation of the water. The sheath of the cables is twofold: the inner layer is made of linear polyethylene and the outer layer is made of fireproof polyvinylchloride. Use: Single wire cables with reticulate polyethylene insulation (XLPE), with screen made of one or several aluminum strips, with twofold sheath made of polyethylene and polyvinylchloride are used for restoration, repairing and removal of the failures of the cable lines with a nominal voltage of 20kV. These cables can be placed in underground installation ducts, tunnels and channels etc., where it is possible that the cable structure is not respected on purpose and in case of fire the supply of electric power towards a great number of users is interrupted. Compliance of the proposed performance with the standard documents: Documentation and tests requirements: Cables must comply with the standards below and the valid changes and amendments thereof: BDS 2581-86 Supply cables for a fixed application with polyethylene and chemical reticulated polyethylene; or BDS HD 620 S1: 2003 Supply cables with extruded insulation for a declared voltage of 3.6/6 (7.2) up to 20.8/36 (42) kV.
