Statement of the problem ~ A day in life of a bank manager doesnt give Marjorie a chance to have plenty of time being with her family. 2. Solution the problem ~ As part of Marjories being a working mom , she has to be atleast a day of working day off. 3. Answer 3 question QUESTIONS FOR CHAPTER CONCLUDING CASE Q1: To what extent does Wong Gillmores day coincide with the managerial work methods identified by Mintzberg? What roles are evident in her activities? Answer: ~ After reading the case study of Marjorie Wong Gillmore, a bank manager at the Milpitas branch of Bank of America, we can easily see that her activities conform to a great extent to the observations made by Henry Mintzberg. We see that her day is occupied with a lot of small activities performed at a feverish pace which includes meeting with potential clients, reviewing team performance, holding staff and general meetings and absorbing the extra workload with her team. Her day starts early and to accommodate meeting new customers, she has to conform to a very busy schedule. She usually plans her day ahead and prioritizes tasks that need to be performed on the next working day which signifies that as a Manager she has to perform a lot of varied, brief and fragmented activities with disruptions. As part of her job, she has to network socially with new customers, local community and her own staff. We can see that she is performing multiple roles in her job. She is a middle manager with two assistant managers looking after the day to day operations of the branch. Her interpersonal roles signify her as a leader who is motivating her employees for high performance, pitching in with them whenever and wherever needed. She also acts as a liaison between the bank and its customers.

Q2: Identify the planning, organizing, leading, and controlling functions performed by Wong Gillmore. Answer: ~ A list of Wong Gillmores activities are classified below according to the four managerial functions. Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling. Planning Her planning involves her goal of getting more customers for the bank and expanding the banks business. Organizing One of her junior assistant managers has been promoted and sent to the larger branch. She thinks to hire one person as an assistant manager. Leading She keeps attract of the activities of her assistant managers. She leads them in way that on weekdays, except Monday, she holds staff meeting with her subordinate at 9:00 am to review the banks various products such as seven types of checking accounts. Controlling It would include that she is making use of rules and regulations stated by the head office to meet the performance criteria. Q3: What work agenda does Wong Gillmore seem to have? How to technical, human, and conceptual skills come into play in Wong Gillmores job? Answer: ~ The work agendas she is having include the goal of expanding the branch and ensure good customer. *Her Technical Skills ~ Her technical skills include her are specialization she pitches reviews loan applications. She accepts them or rejects them according to the decision implied by the main branch and the customers account history. *Her Human Skills ~ She likes to work with her junior she possesses almost all the qualities of a good leader. She keeps a relationship network with the customers and outsiders. She likes to work as a senior, as well as a part of the group with her subordinates.

*Her Conceptual Skills ~ Her Conceptual Skills comprise her long team goals. Her priority is customer service. Her goal is extend the bank business by making more customers, and keeping the current ones satisfied. 4. Recommendation ~ "I am recommending Marjorie to have equal time to her family and to her work. She should have equal priorities in order to have her life balanced."
