Read the passage and answer the questions that follow. Weight Management Many people who are unhappy with their present weight try many ways to lose it. However, they fail to realise that weight management is actually about long-term success. People who lose weight quickly by crash dieting usually gain back all of the pounds they lost. This is because they have not permanently changed their eating habits. Therefore, the best weight management strategies are those that you can maintain for a lifetime. One way is to watch your drinks. You will be surprised how many extra calories can be lurking in the sodas, juices and other drinks that you take in every day. Simply cutting out a couple of cans of soda or switching to diet soda can save you up to 360 calories or more each day. It is sensible to start small. Small changes are a lot easier to stick to than drastic ones. Try reducing the size of the portions you eat for a week. Once you have done that, start gradually introducing healthier food and exercise into your life. Try to pay attention as you eat. Of course, you have to stop when you have eaten enough. Slowing down can help because it takes about twenty minutes for your brain to recognise how much is in your stomach. Sometimes, taking a break before going for seconds can keep you from eating another saving. And always avoid eating when you feel upset or bored. If you do, you tend to overeat.
