MICHELIN GREEN TYRES Better fuel economy with reduced environmental impact is a growing and crucial challenge for vehicle manufacturers. The search for affordable solutions led to the production of green tyres. As the name suggests, these are environment friendly tyres. Their significantly reduced tyre rolling resistance helps to curtail vehicle fuel consumption contributing to reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. THE ECONOMIC ASPECT OF ROAD SAFETY On the 10th April 2012, Delhi woke up to another hit and run case when a speeding Mercedes Benz mowed down two constables. LAUNCHING A TYRE ON THE MARKET: THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INDIAN AND EU NORMS AND REGULATIONS Every product that is launched in the market has to go through certain standards that maintain the quality of the product. TYRE MAKERS AND NATURAL RUBBER Raw material forms the crux of the tyre industry and according to industry estimates, 70% of the total turnover of the industry is accounted by this input cost. HOW WELL IS THE COUNTRYS INFRASTRUCTURE ADAPTED TO LUXURY CARS? Owning a luxury car is no longer an aberration in India and the trend is fast catching with the rich upper class Indians. In 2011 the market for luxury cars registered a growth of around 40 50 % whereas the overall passenger vehicle market witnessed a mere 6 % growth. Driving a premium car is, however, not just about the display of wealth and power; it is also about pure driving pleasure. The big question is whether the Indian infrastructure is developed enough for luxury car drivers to be able to enjoy a smooth ride on Indian roads.
