AC-Win V 3.0

Enhanced Attendant Console for Hicom 300 / 300 E / 300 H

The enhanced attendant console, AC-Win, in the Hicom 300 , Hicom 300 E and Hicom 300 H communication system is an attendant console based on a Pentium PC. One or more consoles can be installed, depending on the size of the system and the structure of the company or organization. The switching functions are easy to use under the Windows NT user interface and enable an operator to extend external or internal voice calls. The attendant can choose from a number of layout operations for the call control window, e.g. for visually impaired people. The operator has the option of displaying all calls or else outgoing or incoming calls only in the call journal. Three password-protected authorisation levels are available, i.e. user, superuser and administrator. When the operator logs onto the system each day with password if required the previously programmed personal attendant console appears on the PC screen. The new attendant console can be particularly economical in companies, in which attendants must perform multiple tasks. In such cases, work at the attendant console is only one task among many others, such as word processing, performed on the PC. When calls arrive, the personal attendant console appears automatically on the screen and the application in progress moves to the background. The performance of AC-Win can be further enhanced through the addition of the Plus Package.

System concept
The enhanced attendant console is connected to a UP0/E user interface in the Hicom 300 / 300 E / 300 H system via an integrated PC card. The handset and the optional headset, recorded announcement equipment and tape recorder are also connected to the PC. The attendant console can be used with any standard commercially available PC and no specific hardware components apart from the UP0/E card are required. The functionality provided by this system is implemented exclusively by means of software.

Switching functions
Incoming calls are signalled either acoustically or visually on the PC screen. The call can be forwarded by entering the telephone number of the person for whom the call is intended, or by clicking on the stored extension number in a separate window. The attendant can switch back and forth between the different windows which are open at the same time. Functions such as hold, call pickup, disconnect, switching or call charge display can be activated using the function keys as well as the mouse.

DS-Win V 2.0 directory service (optional)

The DS-Win V 2.0 directory service is an application which enables the rapid forwarding of incoming calls to requested subscribers. The subscribers are searched for in a local Access database. It is possible to install DS-Win on the enhanced attendant console along with AC-Win V 3.0.

All of the functions required at the attendant console are concentrated on one terminal. All of the functions are integrated in one highly ergonomic user interface. The recording of personal messages by AC-Voice greatly facilitates the operators tasks. Standard greetings and messages are no longer required due to the automatic repetition of recorded messages by AC-Voice. The possible simultaneous use of standard PC software along with ACWin helps to increase attendant productivity when the switchboard is not busy. The combined use of AC-Win and AC attendant consoles guarantees customer investment. The use of an open PC system paves the way for easy upgrading (e.g. DS-Win electronic telephone directory, solutions for visually impaired operators) Use of competitively priced PC hardware and software.
