CONCEPT OF TEACHING

Teaching is an activity that relate with spreading of planning, organizing, delivering, guiding and evaluating. In short, teaching is the process to deliver and contribute ideas to simplify the building of knowledge.

CONCEPT OF LEARNING
According to Slavin (2005) - learning is the transformation in a person due to experience. Human started learning since they were born and it was related with the experience. It is a lifelong process of transforming information and experience for knowledge, skill, behavior and attitude. According to Hill (2002) learning happen when experience cause a permanent changes in a person knowledge or behavior . It might be purposely or accidently, for better or worst, right or wrong and realize or not. According to Schunk (1991) learning involve with improving and getting knowledge, skill, strategy, believing and behavior. Concept of learning is the changes in behavior.

PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING

Is to form a model that describe principles of learning and this will influence the master of knowledge, development of skill and competence when applied in classroom.

1. ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT
According to Ewell (1997) the learner is not receptive of knowledge, but rather creates his or her learning actively and uniquely - students need to build knowledge by involving actively in teachers teaching because knowledge is not being deliver directly to them.

2.CONNECTION AND DESIGN


According to Ewell (1997) involves actively creating among the concepts, skill, element, people and experience. Explained how students have opportunity to build, decide, test and make design together with connection from learning situation. From learning students can create meaningful atmosphere for learning activity which has certain connection and design.

3.INFORMAL LEARNING
Learning is not only in the classroom or during learning period but it can be anywhere and anytime. Informal learning enable students to gain knowledge outside the classroom through interaction with environment. It is an implicit learning gain knowledge through direct interaction or various way from peers, adults and environment.

4. DIRECT EXPERIENCE
Through direct experience, student has given opportunity to master knowledge and skill by direct observation of object or phenomena that they want to study. This activity can help the student to form understanding of anything that they have learnt. It really need to change the wrong impression or assumption about something. Student can find and explore, also experienced it themselves not by reading , hearing or getting from others.

5.URGED SITUATION
This principle assume that optimum learning might be happen if someone face with problem that need certain solution. If learning is in urged situation with direct experience with something that is really happen, so the learning will be more challenging and interesting to the students. This happen because there is a balance between challenge and opportunity in any learning situation . If the student faced a complex situation it will motivate them to find the solution.

6.CONTINUATION FEEDBACK
Feedback is the information given to individual about the suitability action and respond. Effective feedback should depend on the right analysis about the student performance and need to be done immediately so that the student will not make any mistake. Students can get feedback from their teacher and friends about their performance and this can improve their performance.

7.SOMETHING ENJOYABLE
Learning need something which is enjoyable. According to Ewell (1997) response together with effective learning happen when students are in enjoyable environment like personal interaction and support from the teacher personally. Enjoyable learning environment including culture context and interpersonal provide a lot of social interaction opportunity and learning.

8. REFLECTION
Reflection is the process of thinking and memorizing the experience and implication of ourselves. It is a meaningful effort to feel the process of teaching and learning, help to balance our believe with the students need. Student can control their lesson and increase their self evaluation skill and to see again what they have done and need to be correct.

TYPES OF LEARNING
Gagne defined learning as a change in human disposition or capability, which persist over period of time which is not simply ascribe to processes of growth. In his book Gagne has proposed five types of main learning. Each of it needs different teaching.

1. INTELECT SKILL
Refers to an individual procedural knowledge. Gagne (1985) has analyzed an episode of learning which consist of student, a stimulus situation that are the episodes which stimulate the students sense and an action or response produced due to stimulus.

INTELECT SKILL CATEGORIZE BY GAGNE


A) sign learning responds to a sign B) learning rule involve with combination of two or more related concept in sequence. C) learning concept ability to classify object and event according to certain features. D) learning discrimination learning to differentiate thing according to certain feature. E) solving problem involves with using principle, conclude, generalize, concept and rule of solving problem in a new situation. F) sequencing one or more related response. G) associate verbal a sequencing learning in verbal form. Most of Gagne ideas about this assignment analysis shows that learning happen in hierarchy - from simple to complex.

2. VERBAL INFORMATION
Refers to someone ability to express an event or fact orally or written form. It needs intelect skill to express or say something, concept, principles and procedure.

3.COGNITIVE STRATEGY
It is the skills which students can control themselves the inside processes such as paying attention, learning, memorizing and thinking of something.

4. PSYCHOMOTOR SKILL
Ability to make physical movement in sequence accurately and right. This type of learning involve a few levels - students will learn that stages then apply and improve it according to the response from their environment.

5. ABILITY
Gagne (1985) attitude is refers to inside circumstance which influence someone action of choice. It can be seen through the manner shown. Attitude can be learning and master through experience and observation. To build the attitude need, teacher have to relate successful with certain attitude or using role model.
