Introduction Introduction
WISENET( Wireless Sensor Network )
One of MIT's 10 emerging technologies. A large number of low cost, low power, multifunctional, and small sensor nodes. Sensor nodes consist of sensing, data processing and communicating components. Collaborative effort of a large number of nodes. Primarily focus on power consumption.
Sensor nodes
Number of sensor nodes is larger Densely deployed, prone to failures The topology of a sensor network changes very frequently Mainly use broadcast Limited in power No global identification

Future of WISENET
Future Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) will be ubiquitous, large-scale networks interconnected with the existing IP infrastructure. Autonomic functionalities have to be designed in order to reduce the complexity of their operation and management, and support the dissemination of knowledge within a WSN.
