You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide.

CONCEPT OF IMAMAT
In shia Islam, Imamat has fundamental importance to the tauheed and prophethood, in the sense that at no time in the history of humanity did the Almighty Allah leave His mission of guiding the people to their wishes rather He kept with Himself the authority of choosing them. This is the reason that selection of prophet and imam is done by Allah Himself. In the respect, Hazrat Muhammad is the last in the line of prophethood but the mission of guidance therefore, remained with the Imams.

The concept of Imamat before the advent of Islam

Before the advent of Islam the meaning of imam was taken as a companion. At the time of Hazrat Adam he had a companion with him, known as Shish A.s. Hazrat Mosa A.s had Haroon A.s with him and in the same way Hazrat Muhammad had Hazrat Ali A.s with him.

As it is quoted by Hazrat Imam Jaffer Sadiq, that Allah first positioned Hazrat Ibrahim as his dear one, then as a guider, then a friend of His, the a Prophet and finally an Imam.

[ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." (Abraham)

." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [Allah] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."

Prophet Muhammad said to the Muslim at the ghadir-Khumm: I am leaving behind me two important things the Quran and the Ahl-alBayt. If you follow them both you will never go astray. Ali is the Mawla of those people whose Mawla I am. O Allah, be the friend of those who are friends of Ali, and be the enemy of those who are enemies of Ali.

Today I have perfected your religion for you and I have completed my blessing upon you, and I have approved Islam for your religion.

But no by thy lord! They will not belive till they make thee the judge regarding the disagreement between them then they shall find in themselves no impediment touch thy verdict but shall surrender in full submission.

Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds.

Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

One day We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imams: those who are given their record in their right hand will read it (with pleasure), and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.

Imammat as global
Imams has done many thing not only for its followers but also for other religion people from periods of time. From Hazrat Ali to Hazar Imam there were many thing which were done some of deed are writen.

Nur-imamat Globally
Arabian Period : started from the time of Hazrat Ali to our 5th Imam Jaffer Sadiq. A lot of work was done Globally. Hazrat Alis letter is one of the most important one, as most of the governments use it for their administration purpose. Secondly, Imam jaffer Sadiq was a great scientist who taught Jabir bin hayyan. He was the father of modern chemistry. Fatmid Period : Started from Imam Mehdi and it continued till Imam Nizar. It is said to be the Golden period for Ismailies. This is so because Ismailies progressed tremendously in terms of trade, architecture, philosophy etc. Imam Moiz the founder of the university Jamiat-ul-Azhar, is the best example as it offered education for everyone not only for ismailies.

 Alamaut period : in this period ismailies faced a lot of difficulties regarding preaching. They use to hide and then preach. If the ismailies were found out, they were to be killed by the kufar. In this period a lot of work was done in terms of science and people worked hard at this time. There were not much developments in this period.
