WHY YOU NEED THE HOLY GHOST

JOHN 3:5-8 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is BORN OF THE SPIRIT is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be BORN AGAIN. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is BORN OF THE SPIRIT.

WHY YOU NEED THE HOLY GHOST

LUKE 24:49 49 And, behold, I send THE PROMISE OF MY FATHER upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be ENDUED WITH POWER FROM ON HIGH. ACTS 1:8 8 But ye shall receive power, AFTER THAT THE HOLY GHOST IS COME UPON YOU: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

NEW WINE OR NEW LIFE: A TYPE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

MARK 2:21,22 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. 22 And no man putteth NEW WINE into old bottles: else the NEW WINE doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but NEW WINE must be put into new bottles.

NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

JESUS CALLED HOLY GHOST RIVERS OF LIVING WATERS

JOHN 7:37-39 37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow RIVERS OF LIVING WATER. 39 (But this spake he of THE SPIRIT, which they that believe on him should receive; for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

JESUS CALLED HOLY GHOST THE COMFORTER

JOHN 14:16,17 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth [the Holy Spirit]; WHOM THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE, because it seeth him not, nei ther knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be IN you.

THE HOLY GHOST IS GOD'S PROMISE TO YOU

ACTS 1:5,8 5 For John truly baptized with water; but YE SHALL BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST not many days hence. ... 8 But ye shall receive power, AFTER THAT THE HOLY GHOST IS COME UPON YOU: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. ACTS 2:32,33 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father THE PROMISE of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

OLD TESTAMENT PROMISES

Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

THIS IS THE FORMULA FOR SALVATION

Act 2:37-39 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

ANY BELIEVER CAN RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST NOW

LUKE 11:9-13 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give THE HOLY SPIRIT to them that ask him?

YOU DONT HAVE TO WAIT (TARRY) TO RECEIVE IT NOW

THE HOLY GHOST WAS GIVEN TO THE 120 DICIPLES ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST ACTS 2:1-4 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

HAS BEEN GIVEN YOU JUST NEED TO RECEIVE

Note the Holy Ghost was given at Pentecost and just needs to be received NOW
NO WHERE else in the Bible did anyone have to Tarry or wait to receive the Holy Ghost The gift has already been given YOU JUST NEED TO RECEIVE NOW

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF RECEIVING WITHOUT WAITING

CORNELIUS ACTS 10:45,46 45 And they of the circumcision which believed [the Jewish believers] were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. 46 FOR THEY HEARD THEM SPEAK WITH TONGUES, AND MAGNIFY GOD....

THE EPHESIAN DISCIPLES

ACTS 19:1,2 1 ... Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye RECEIVED the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

THEY RECEIVED INSTANTLY

Acts 19: 5-6 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

THE SAMARITAN CHRISTIANS

ACTS 8:14 -17 14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God[ concerning salvation ], they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might RECEIVE the Holy Ghost. 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Act 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

ANANIAS JUST HAD TO LAY HANDS ON SAUL (PAUL)

ACTS 9:17,18 17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou tamest, hath sent me, THAT THOU MIGHTEST receive thy sight, and BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

MUST BELIEVE TO RECEIVE

Mark 16:16-18 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

BELIEVERS ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY GHOST

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELLETH IN YOU?
1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY GHOST which is IN YOU, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

2 CORINTHIANS 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD; as God hath said, I will dwell IN THEM, and walk IN THEM; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

THE ROLE OF THE HOLY GHOST WITHIN YOU

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT GALATIANS 5:22,23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG-SUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, 23 MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE: against such there is no law.

THE HOLY GHOST OUR HELPER AND COMFORTER

JOHN 14:16-18 (Amplified) 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another COMFORTER (COUNSELOR, HELPER, INTERCESSOR, ADVOCATE, STRENGTHENER and STANDBY) that He may remain with you forever, 17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him, nor know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless I will come [back] to you.

THE HOLY GHOST OUR GUIDE

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

HOLY GHOST HELPS TO TESTIFY, GLORIFY AND TEACH

JOHN 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, HE SHALL TESTIFY OF ME. John 16:14: HE SHALL GLORIFY ME: for he shall receive of mine, and shall SHEW IT unto you JOHN 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, WHATSOEVER I HAVE SAID UNTO YOU.

HOW YOU CAN RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST NOW

BELIEVE AND KNOW THE HOLY GHOST IS ALREADY GIVEN

The apostles didn't pray that God would give the Samaritans the Holy Ghost. They prayed that they might receive the Holy Ghost: "Then laid they their hands on them, and they RECEIVED the Holy Ghost" (Acts 8:17). God hasn't given the Holy Ghost to anyone since the Day of Pentecost, but people have received Him. The Holy Ghost is already here for believers to receive.

ANYONE WHO IS BAPTIZED IS READY TO RECEIVE NOW

ACTS 2:37,38 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO BE BAPTIZED TO RECEIVE

CORNELIUS RECEIVED BEFORE HE WAS BAPTIZED Act 10:44-47 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

YOU CAN RECEIVE BY FAITH

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

WHAT TO EXPECT
ALL RECEIVE IN DIFFERENT WAYS BUT. YOU WILL SPEAK IN TONGUES DO expect the Holy Ghost to move upon your vocal organs and put supernatural words on your lips which you will have to speak out with help from the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost gives the utterance, but you do the actual speaking.

SPIRIT GIVES UTTERANCE

ACTS 2:4 [They ] began to SPEAK with other tongues, as THE SPIRIT gave them UTTERANCE. ACTS 10:46 For they heard THEM SPEAK with tongues, and magnify God... . ACTS 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, THE HOLY GHOST CAME ON THEM; and THEY SPAKE with tongues, and prophesied. 1 CORINTHIANS 14:2,4,5 2 For HE THAT SPEAKETH in an unknown tongue speak-eth not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit HE SPEAKETH mysteries... . 4 HE THAT SPEAKETH in an unknown tongue edifieth himself. . . . 5 I would that YE ALL SPAKE with tongues....

YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO GAIN

BE READY TO SPEAK IN TONGUES

PRAY TO GOD IN YOUR HEART
"I am receiving the Holy Spirit right now by faith. NOW SPEAK WHATEVER THE SPIRIT GIVES YOU UTTERANCE

REMEMBER WHAT JESUS PROMISED YOU
