St. Stanislaus Ex-Students Association

• Started by Fr. Joseph Casasayas SJ in 1935


• Has evolved to be a vibrant network nurturing
Stanislite traditions and living the motto “Born for
greater things” in all walks of life.
• The network is growing locally and abroad through the
use of the collaborative portal www.stanislites.org
• Membership at 1205 registered members and over
1000 registered portal users
• Part of the Indian and the Global network of Jesuit
Alumni Associations

Vision and Mission

One global Stanislite network

St. Stanislaus Ex-students Association is a global,


autonomous, not-for-profit organisation that will grow and
nurture an alumni network that helps develop and maintain
the school as a premier institution for building character,
competence and conscience

Our objectives

Help alumni strengthen the Stanislite bond through


networking and participation in common activities

– Career Guidance – Assisting students in vocational guidance
– Aptitude tests for students
– Hall of Fame – providing inspiration and aspiration to today’s

– Hosting and maintenance solution for the school website

Social conscience and responsibility


– Healthcare Insurance Initiative – Active and retired staff
• 114 Working & retired teachers and staff are covered for health
insurance for Rs. 1.14 crore
• 17 workers covered for Personal accident insurance
– Uplat School project – Operating costs, Solar energy project
– First Aid Awareness Camp held for teachers & students by
alumnus Dr. Jayakar
Growing the community
– Annual events, Reunion dinner, Breakfast meetings,
Independence day celebrations
– Fund-raising events with PTA and school administration

Uplat English School

• English medium school in


Talasari district
• Possibly the only opportunity
for Warli-tribe (Adivasi)
children to study in the
English medium
• SSESA helps with reducing
operating costs of the school
• Helped implement a solar
power facility for the computer
room

Healthcare insurance initiative

• Joe Maumkel (fondly called Dr Joe)


diligently served St. Stanislaus High
School for 60 years
• His serious illness resulted in huge
hospital bills.
• The global SSESA network raised
Rs.173,000 for Joe in February 2007
• Joe Maumkel passed away in July
2007 and the Healthcare initiative
evolved and is evolving
• Over 100 retired and current staff
have benefited for each term
• Currently in the second term

St. Stanislaus Staff Healthcare

• Provides Healthcare Insurance for the teaching and non-teaching


staff of the school
• Covers retired teachers
• Accident insurance already in place for workers
• Leverage alumni expertise in healthcare camps for staff

Career Guidance for students

• Aptitude & Career Guidance and Counseling for the last


five years
• Talks on career options to Std IX students by Stanislites
who have excelled in their fields
• Help students manage the challenges on the domestic
front and social and emotional issues
– An increase in health related issues also need attention
• Our portal has brought to us several alumni who today
excel in their respective fields and who are willing to
share their thoughts and ideas with our school boys.

Stanislite Hall of Fame: Target Launch 2009

• A Stanislite Hall of Fame is being planned on the school


campus with the objective of providing inspiration to
students of today
• Calling Stanislites to contribute memorabilia, pictures,
videos, write-ups, achievements etc which can be
displayed
• The launch is scheduled for December 2009
