SAMPLE ANSWER I would choose the fried noodles with mushrooms because it is my brothers favourite food. The price is reasonable and affordable. It is served with my brothers favourite chicken soup. 13 - 15 marks

Look at the pictures. Try to answer these questions: Who are the people? What are they doing? What is happening in each picture? Where is the place?

Look at the words given. Use the words to make complete sentences. You have to add words to make each sentence complete
Begin each sentence with a capital letter. Add a full stop at the end of every sentence. Arrange the sentences in paragraphs. Make sure you use all the words. Check the spelling and grammar correctly.

IDIOMS
What is an idiom ? An idiom is a phrase or sentence in which simple words are used to convey a special meaning.

Example of Idioms: A black sheep : a- good-for-nothing person. e.g. Hilmi always causes trouble in his family. He is a black sheep in the family. A snake in the grass : a secret enemy e.g. I thought she was my friend until she betrayed me. Only than I did know that she was a snake in the grass. Apple of the eye : someone dearly loved e.g. He is the apple of his mothers eye.

To lend a hand : to help e.g. My car has broken down. Can you lend me a hand? To rain cats and dogs : rain very heavily e.g. It was raining cats and dogs this morning. To sell like hot cakes : to be sold off quickly e.g. The books sold like hot cakes because they were very popular. To talk big : to boast e.g. Dont talk big. I know who you are. To look down upon : to despise e.g. It is wrong to look down upon the poor.

At the afternoon, Encik Amin decided to have a picnic. They found a place which was just a stones throw away from the bird park. They put the food on a mat under a shady three. It was a mouth watering food. They enjoyed the delicious food cooked by Puan Ana, his

wife.

After lunch, Encik Amins children Zarul and Zura helped their parents to pack all the things. They arranged them nicely in their fathers blue in colour car. Encik Amin drove his car carefully. They reached home tired but happy. It was a memorable day for they and hoped to go again some other day.
