Modifying Primary Key Creating Reports

PRIMARY KEY
A primary key is a field or set of fields that has a unique value for each record, is indexed and identifies the record.

Steps in modifying the primary key:


1. Open your last activity and click the table for Boys. Here is an example table with the following fields:

2. Click the Design View button on the Status Bar to move to Design View.

3. Click the row of Student and set it as the Primary Key by clicking the primary key button under the Design Tab. You can also set it by right-clicking the Student Number row and then select Primary Key.

Steps in Creating REPORTS


1. While your database is still open, click Create on the Ribbon and select Report Wizard button to display the Report Wizard dialog box.

2. Click the Next Button to display the next Wizard Screen. Click the Add Tab with the fields that you wanted to show in your report.

3. After specifying the fields that you wanted to see in the report, click the Next Button to display the next report wizard screen.

After clicking Next, the report wizard will look like this:

4. Click the Next Button to display the Next Report Wizard screen.

5. Click the Student Number field to select the field as the sort key.

6. Click the Next Button to go to the Next Report Wizard Screen. 7. Make sure that Tabular is selected as the Layout, Portrait as the Orientation and then click Next.

8. Be sure the Module Style is selected then click Next.

9. Erase the current title and change it to IIIZIRCON BOYS then click Finish.
