Turkey estimated population in July 2007 was to be 71,158,647

Today Turkey has 73.6 million people


Area covers 300,948 square miles

Life Span of Men & Women In Turkey

In the early days median age for men and women was 28.6 years old.

Today the life span is 72 for men and 77 for women

Ethnic Group

80% is Turks and 20% Kurds 99% Sunni Muslim

Turks forbid wearing of Islamic veils by students in government schools and universities and by civil servants in a government buildings.
