BPR
Business Process Re-engineering It is the fundamental rethinking and radical redesign of business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical contemporary measures of performance, such as cost, quality, service, and speed. The analysis and design of workflows and processes within an organization.

A business process is a set of logically related tasks performed to achieve a defined business outcome. Reengineering is the basis for many recent developments in management.

MIS
A management information system (MIS) is a system or process that provides information needed to manage organizations effectively Management information systems are regarded to be a subset of the overall internal control procedures in a business, which cover the application of people, documents, technologies, and procedures used by management accounts to solve business problems such as costing a product, service or a business-wide strategy.

The characteristics of MIS are : Transaction handling and report keeping Support Integrated databases MIS is flexible

DSS
Decision support systems are interactive information systems DSS are designed to support semi structured and unstructured problems DSS are capable of helping the managers in making decisions

Characteristics of DSS
A DSS is designed to address semi structured and unstructured problems The DSS mainly supports decision making at the top management level DSS is user friendly and interactive DSS makes general purpose models and analytical tools available to decision makers

EIS
EIS can be considered as a better and sophisticated DSS Top level executives and decision makers face many problems, they need to make proper decisions at right time EIS is made for senior level management

EIS takes the following into consideration : The overall vision and mission of the company Company goals and objectives Organizational structure Company operations

Data Warehousing
A data warehouse is a repository of an organization's electronically stored data, designed to facilitate reporting and analysis.

Data Mining
Collecting and managing data is important Data mining is the process of extracting patterns from data

Supply chain Management


Supply chain management (SCM) is the management of a network of interconnected businesses involved in providing products and services to customers Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw material, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption
