TEACHING MEDIA VOCABULARY

Definition of Vocabulary
Vocabulary is the all the language and
words either used or understood by a

person or group of people, or vocabulary is

the words of language.

Media In Vocabulary

Media Vocabulary In Primary School

1. Picture
We can use the picture to teach vocabulary in primary school, because the student easier to understand the

word with picture. We can take the picture that interest

our student. Such as doll, car, balloon, animal, etc. Teacher show the picture to the student, and then the teacher mention the picture, and the student must follow what the teacher have said.

2. Blackboard / Whiteboard
Using blackboard / whiteboard also media in vocabulary especially in primary school. The teacher can write the word in blackboard, such as vocabulary in the kitchen. And then the teacher mention, and all of students follow what the teacher said. Or the teacher can order the student to memorize the vocabulary, such as

vocabulary in the kitchen.

3. Book / Dictionary
Using book / dictionary is one of media vocabulary in primary school. As we know, book especially about English can enrich vocabulary the student. The student can write in their notebook or can memorize the vocabulary which they find from book. Then,

using dictionary also can enrich the vocabulary the student. In

primary school, it should be better to use dictionary that using picture. So, it can make the student easier to comprehend about the vocabulary.

4. Furniture
Using furniture is one of media in primary school. For

instance, the teacher mention vocabulary in the

classroom and then the student follow what the teacher said. And I think it should be better using furniture, because we use the real thing. So, it can make the student comprehend and also can draw out enthusiasm learn of the student.

Media Vocabulary In Junior High School

1. Picture
Using picture is one of media vocabulary in junior high school. I think the way to teach vocabulary with picture, it is same with primary school. In junior high school, as a teacher we must make the picture more difficult from primary school.

2. Diagram
For example we can use diagram to enrich the vocabulary our student. Here I will give the example about diagram.

3. Book / Dictionary I think using media book and dictionary same with in primary school.

4. Video and Television

Using video and television is one of media vocabulary

in junior high school. To teach media of video and

television, the teacher can order the student to watch video or news, film, etc which English language. From video or news, film the student can find new vocabulary.

Media Vocabulary In Senior High School

1. Blackboard, Book, and Dictionary Using the third media, I think cant separate from media in vocabulary. So that is way, all of them very important to teach vocabulary in primary, junior, and also senior high school.

2. Newspaper
Newspaper can also add new vocabulary for the student

in senior high school. The teacher can order the student

to read a article or news that using English language in newspaper.

3. Radio
To teach vocabulary with radio, teacher can

order the student to listen news from radio using

English language. For example VOA America is

one of news that using English language.

4. Television and Film

Television and film is also one of media vocabulary in

senior high school. With television, the teacher can

order the student to watch a news using English

language, and with film the teacher can order the

student to watch the film using English language. From television and film, the student can enrich their vocabulary

Media Vocabulary In University

1. Whiteboard and Dictionary Until now, whiteboard and dictionary has a big influence to enrich our vocabulary, especially in university. So that is way, whiteboard and dictionary is very important to teach vocabulary.

2. Radio
I think radio is same important to enrich our vocabulary.

So that is way, radio cant also separate from media

vocabulary in university.

3. In Focus and Laptop

In focus and laptop is one of media vocabulary in

university and we are using it now. And in university in

focus and laptop cant separate from collegian, because laptop is one principle commodity.

4. Television and Film Television and film is also media vocabulary in university. To teach vocabulary with television and film, I think is same with senior high school. But as a

teacher must make a difference film in senior high

school and in university.
