Units Introduction
ISU Unit
The Integrate System Unit (ISU) accomplishes the functions of SCC unit,
line unit, tributary unit, timing unit, order-wire unit and cross-connect unit. Provide system control function for OptiX Metro 500. Provide interfaces for NE communication and network management. Implement service configuration. Provide the extended slots with clocks. Provides 1 or 2 STM-1 optical interfaces. Three optical interface type S-1.1/ L-1.1/ L-1.2 are available, the connector type is SC/PC. Provide 8 or 16 E1 electrical interfaces with 75/120 ohm impedance.
Page 23
Units Introduction
ISU Unit
Provide 16 T1 electrical interfaces with 100 ohm impedance. Provide one19.2kbit/s transparent data interface. Provide 1 external clock interface. Provide 3 Boolean inputs and 1 Boolean output. Support synchronization status message (SSM) . Support DCC transparent transmission over the external clock.

ISU Unit
The cross-connect unit which be integrated on ISU can realize the
service cross-connection at the VC-4 and VC-12 levels. It can crossconnect 6 x 6 VC-4 at most.
