Advisor is used to refer to the doctoral student advisor or supervisor. The function is assumed to be essentially the same. Advising refers to the process of providing guidance, advice, and quality assurance for a doctoral student during two stages of a doctoral program: doing preparatory work prior to a dissertation and doing a dissertation. (Davis, 2004)

Apa dia disertasi?


Dissertations are academic works that are intended to demonstrate an individual's ability to undertake scholarship in a field. They reflect the preparation of an individual to understand and create scholarship through intellectual endeavor and use of research skills. They demonstrate the ability to build theory, test ideas, and/or discover new knowledge.

Some expectations for dissertations


1. The problem that will be studied is an important one. It should be one that is worthy of substantial inquiry, one that warrants investigation due to its centrality to the field of study or to issues of practice. 2. They will be thoroughly embedded in the research literature on the topics selected for investigation.

3. All dissertations will involve original investigation. 4. A dissertation will set out to find new answers to the question being explored.
