About the company

Formed In 1968 ,was set up at pimpri then was shifted to Talegaon MIDC(Maharashtra Industrial Development corporation) for expansion. Nature of business-Manufacturing. Precast Concrete Products like paver blocks, road dividers, ferrocrette slabs, designer paver blocks, RCC and paving blocks. Form of business-Family based partnership firm . Location Determiners- being located in MIDC the Firm is provided with certain tax benefits for power, water ,land etc. The Total manufacturing infrastructure area -2,40,000 Sqft.

The Production
Paver Blocks: Raw materials Cement (ultratech) Stored in-Silos Stone metal Fly ash (by product of coal based thermal power plants) Crust ash

The Process 1. Cement stored in silos is First extracted and mixed with other Components like fly ash etc in correct proportions with the help of a computer operated machine. It is then put inside a hydraulic machine which gives it the shape. A labour puts in a concete slab as the mixture is put on the conveyor belt.This is for the bricks to be put on as they come out of the hydraulic machine. Curing
Inside the curing room the blocks are artificially humidyfied for 8-10 hrs.This is to dry the bricks and for the cement to gain strength A forklift Then takes the block out in the stock yard. Where they are kept for 12-14 days for manual curing and are then dispatched off to the consumers

However,this process is Not very automated Because of the process being such. Main supply is to municipal corp for sewage,drainage pipes with respect to sales.

Curing for RCC pipes

Workers-come under workers compensation act which is compulsory under industries act and are provided with Accommodation facilities .Have Right to form trade unions. Environment-The company is involved in employing environment friendly processes that produce zero waste. In the traditional spinning process a lot of cement slurry and waste is produced during production which requires disposal. Whereas in vertical vibrated casting process there is no waste. Techniques involved for curing are based on natural exothermic reactions of concrete. Hence deploying water pump systems, the heat generated from the concrete pipe is used for its curing. The water used for curing is recycled and reused. Thus saving on precious resources like water and electricity.

My point of view for this trip

the whole tour was a new learning experience and a thought provoking process Makes us understand the BASE of infrastructure.
