A project report on SaleS and diStribution of pepSico

INTRODUCTION
Marketing-marketing is all about understanding needs and creating the demand and trying to satisfy the customers and achieve organisation objectives. Sales- mean the exchange of goods or services for an amount of money or its equivalent. It is only responsible for exchange of mutual benefits .

Distribution-It is the process of moving a product from its manufacturing source to its customers. Channel of Distribution-It is a path-way directing the flow of goods and services from producers to consumers composed of intermediaries through their function and attainment of the mutual objectives.

COMPANY PROFILE
Tripty Drinks Pvt. Ltd is a franchise of Pepsi, which is situated at Jagatpur, Cuttack. It was established in 1967 and started production of Coca Cola. It has been producing Pepsi since 1997 & marketed by NBPL . It is producing Pepsi range of Bottling soft drinks viz. Pepsi, 7up, Mirinda, Slice & soda. The company continuous to adopting innovative technology to keeping constant quality. Now its managed by Mr. Sanjaya Gupta (mkt manager)

OBJECTIVES
To determine the position & the distribution of PEPSICO in Cuttack market. To determine the market share of PEPSI in the Cuttack market. Find out the marketing channel of PepsiCo & the mode of distribution. To know the stock position of PepsiCo & its competitor ready to be served.

METHODOLOGY
A. Primary data: Collection of primary data was conducted by visiting various retail outlets for the preparation of the report. Personal Interview Questionnaire. B. Secondary data: The sources from which secondary data was collected Book, Magazines and Newspaper. Websites

FINDINGS
In most of outlets the retailers gave good response towards distribution of Pepsi. In Cuttack city, pepsico market share is less than coca-cola. In the city like Cuttack, Pepsi products are reaching to every corner (remote area) where not a single bottle of Coca-cola can be seen. In most of retailers gave good response towards availability of products.

SUGGESTION
Proper knowledge should be given to the salesman about the promotional schemes and offers. The company should give priority to the demand of the retailers. There should be proper regulation on time management for the distributors, so that distributor will open the agency on time. The distribution should be a within proper interval, so that there is no shortage of products in the market

CONCLUSION
The aim of my project was to learn & observe about Sales & Distribution Strategies of PepsiCo. I selected the organization because I had a deep interest to know about the marketing work of PepsiCo, what the marketing people actually do. In the above study I conclude that the distribution of PEPSICO is very good as compared to COCA-COAL . In Cuttack market, the market share of PEPSICO is less as compared to COCA-COLA . PEPSI gives more offers schemes to the retailers and most of the retailers are satisfied with their service. Relation between distributors and retailers are very good.
