There are different types of fluorides that have been introduced to market. They are:

Fluoride varnish is available from
different manufacturers in market. It consists of 5% NaF. Duraphat (colgate)
Infection control:
Change gloves after each child. Wearing a mask will decrease your chances of
contracting cold/flu.
Application tips:
1.
A table or desktop which will keep all your supplies close at hand.

A knee to knee/lap position is helpful to
use children under one year to age

Application process:
Clean and dry the teeth with the gauze. Apply a thin layer of varnish on all the surfaces of the
teeth with the disposable brush .
Application sequence:
Start with the cheek surface of the teeth. Apply a thin layer of varnish on the cheek and front surface of
all teeth
Maxillary(upper) & mandibular(lower) Front & back. Now, apply the layer of varnish on the inside of the mouth in
the same pattern.
Post-operative instructions:
Dont eat for one hour. Eat only soft foods at the next meal. Avoid sticky foods for the rest of the day (e.g. fruit
rollups, toffee or gum).
