Introduction
A room, building, or company where machining is
done is called a machine shop. Machining is the conversion of certain material with the aid of tools and equipment into a more useful product. Machine shop commonly contain tools and materials that are uniquely used by machinists. Machine shop have primary machining processes which are turning, drilling and milling. The secondary activities are shaping, planning, boring, broaching and sawing.
transformation materials. Being machinist is actually not an easy task. It requires not only knowledge of the tools but the skills needed to properly perform the job.

Machine tools
A machine tool is a machine for shaping or
machining metal or other rigid materials, usually by cutting, boring, grinding, shearing or other forms of deformation. The major machine tools used in the machine shop of WRS Raipur are

the work piece and provide a guided movement of the parts of the machine. Machine tools employ some sort of tool that does the cutting or shaping.
Lathe
A metal lathe or metalworking lathe is a large class
of lathes designed for precisely machining relatively hard materials. The design of lathes can vary greatly depending on the intended application; however, basic features are common to most types. These machines consist of (at the least) a headstock, bed, carriage, and tailstock.
Turret lathe Center lathe
Turret lathe..
The turret lathe is a form of metalworking lathe that
is used for repetitive production of duplicate parts, which by the nature of their cutting process are usually interchangeable.
Center lathe..
The terms center lathe, engine lathe, and bench
lathe all refer to a basic type of lathe that may be considered the archetypical class of metalworking lathe.
Shaper
A shaper is a type of machine tool that
uses linear relative motion between the workpiece and a single-point cutting tool to machine a linear tool path.
backwards and forwards across the workpiece. On the return stroke of the ram the tool is lifted clear of the workpiece, reducing the cutting action to one direction only.
Milling machine
A milling machine is a machine tool used
to machine solid materials. Milling machines are often classed in two basic forms, horizontal and vertical, which refers to the orientation of the main spindle.
operations, from simple (e.g., slot and keyway cutting, planing, drilling) to complex (e.g., contouring, diesinking).
press in which the head can be moved along an arm that radiates from the machine's column.
machine's base, a radial arm drill press is able to operate over a large area without having to reposition the workpiece. This saves considerable time because it is much faster to reposition the drill head.
Boring machine
In machining, boring is the process of enlarging a
hole that has already been drilled (or cast), by means of a single-point cutting tool ,or of a boring head containing several such tools.
Shearing machine
Shearing machine or sheet cutting machine. These
machines are made up of high grade raw materials. They are widely used for cutting corrugated boards and single paper of corrugated boards.
as to cut vertically down and perpendicular to the surface, working from the edge of a workpiece.
Bending machine
A brake is a metalworking machine that allows
the bending of sheet metal. A cornice brake only allows for simple bends and creases, It is also known as a bending machine or bending brake.
placed, and a clamping bar which will come down and hold the material firmly during the bend. This clamping action may be manual, automatic or operated using a foot pedal.
Band saw
A bandsaw is a power tool which uses
a blade consisting of a continuous band of metal with teeth along one edge to cut various workpieces.
horizontal designs. Horizontal bandsaws hold the workpiece stationary while the blade swings down through the cut.
