Parts

of speech are the fundamental building blocks of traditional grammar. There are eight parts of speech : 1. Noun 2. Pronoun 3. Adjective 4. Verb 5. Adverb 6. Preposition 7. Conjunction 8. interjection

WHAT IS A NOUN ?
The

words which name persons, places, things, creatures and ideas.

Examples : Salina is a teacher. I have table and several chairs. We would like to visit Cameron Highlands Christmas Day is an annual holiday celebrated on December 25

TYPES OF NOUNS
Nouns

which name specific people or places are Proper nouns. Nouns which name ordinary persons and things are Common nouns. Nouns which name intangible(untouchable) things is Abstract nouns Nouns which are countable are Countable nouns Nouns which are uncountable are Uncountable nouns Nouns which refer to groups are Collective nouns Nouns which refer to masculine and feminine 4 terms are Noun gender

PROPER NOUNS

always begin with capital letters like Cameron Highlands. of them consist of more than one word like Queen Mary. may refer to the days in week, months and festivals like February or Tuesday
