be a prophetic people,
inspired and directed by the
Holy Spirit, and committed
to uphold God’s Word as
our rule of faith and
practice.

• Not a company of Prophets.
• The essential nature and
mission of the Church.
• A people that live and think
biblically.
• A people that discern truth from
error – right from wrong.

• A people that engage our culture
without being defined by it.
• A people that listen to God and
do what He is asking.

the words, currently revealed by
God, that strengthen,

Prophesy
Joel 2:28-29
And afterward, I will pour out my
Spirit on all people. You sons an
daughters will prophesy, your old
men will dream dreams, your
young men will see visions. Even
on my servants, both men and
women, I will pour out my Spirit in
those days.
(Acts 2:16)
Numbers 11:24-29
24 So Moses went out and reported
the Lord’s words to the people. He
gathered the seventy elders and
stationed them around the
Tabernacle. 25 And the Lord came
down in the cloud and spoke to
Moses. Then he gave the seventy
elders the same Spirit that was upon
Moses. And when the Spirit rested
upon them, they prophesied. But
this never happened again.

26 Two men, Eldad and Medad, had
stayed behind in the camp. They were
listed among the elders, but they had
not gone out to the Tabernacle. Yet
the Spirit rested upon them as well,
so they prophesied there in the
camp.
27 A young man ran and reported to
Moses, “Eldad and Medad are
prophesying in the camp!”

28 Joshua son of Nun, who had been
Moses’ assistant since his youth,
protested, “Moses, my master, make
them stop!”
29 But Moses replied, “Are you
jealous for my sake? I wish that all
the Lord’s people were prophets
and that the Lord would put his
Spirit upon them all!”

Amos 3:1-8
1 Hear this word that the Lord has
spoken against you, O children of
Israel, against the whole family which
I brought up from the land of Egypt,
saying:
2 "You only have I known of all the
families of the earth; Therefore I will
punish you for all your iniquities."
3 Can two walk together, unless they
are agreed?

4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he
has no prey? Will a young lion cry out
of his den, if he has caught nothing?
5 Will a bird fall into a snare on the
earth, where there is no trap for it?
Will a snare spring up from the earth,
if it has caught nothing at all?
6 If a trumpet is blown in a city, will
not the people be afraid? If there is
calamity in a city, will not the Lord
have done it?

7 Surely the Lord God does nothing,
Unless He reveals His secret to His
servants the prophets.
8 A lion has roared! Who will not fear?
The Lord God has spoken! Who can
but prophesy?
