RELATEDNESS OF THE PROGRAM PROPOSAL TO EVIDENCEBASED PRACTICE The results of the study Effect of Not Monitoring Residual Gastric Volume on Risk of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia in Adults Receiving Mechanical Ventilation and Early Enteral Feeding reports that among adults requiring mechanical ventilation and receiving early enteral nutrition, the absence of gastric volume monitoring was not inferior to routine residual gastric volume monitoring in terms of development of VAP. We concluded as from the research study ; the program proposal as such would be a starting ground for Filipino Nurses about the measuring Residual Gastric Volume. Most nurses as we know have little knowledge about GRVs therefore the program would benefit most Filipino nurses for it will enhance their awareness about measuring GRVs.

TITLE:
Proposed Training Program in Proper Handling of Mechanical Ventilator to Assess the Efficiency of Checking Gastric Residual Volume
PROGRAM PROPOSAL
KEY ELEMENTS Utilization of Assessment Tool This is a 20 -item questionnaire that can be used as a screening tool among nurse whether they are properly trained and knowledgeable in handling the patients receiving mechanical ventilator treatment to assess the Gastric Residual Volume. Training Training of the qualified Trainers for more than two months to gain knowledge about in the field of handling the Mechanical Ventilator Machine. This agenda is for the benefit of the patients receiving this kind of treatment. For the nurse to become highly competent in giving Quality Nursing Health Care.
Actual trial of the Trainers With the supervision of a trained nurse, all of the patient receiving Mechanical Ventilator must be handled properly by the trained nurse to assess the knowledge gain from the training. The nurse supervisor oversees the trial of his team to facilitate the efficiency of checking Gastric Residual Volume of the patient using Mechanical Ventilator.
