Parent Hello Meeting 3rd September 2013

Language for communication In school we focus on English.

Playing, reading stories, watching TV and talking about whatever you can in your home language(s) will develop a strong mother-tongue and aid all future language learning.
Please encourage and support your child but please dont push! Your child needs time - time to learn and also time to switch off.

Our partnership
We are a team, working towards your child having the best learning journey possible.

Your child is unique.

We recognise this in our individual planning & interaction with your child throughout their time in Foundation.

The more details you share with us about your child, the better we know how he/she is learning & developing at home and in school.

The EYFS: Themes and Principles

Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and selfassured.

Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.

Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and carers.

Children develop and learn in different ways. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Foundation Stage Curriculum

The curriculum has 3 prime areas that develop directly in response to relationships and experiences.
