300,000 Belia Salah Guna Dadah


MyMetro NILAI: Agensi Anti Dadah Kebangsaan (AADK), mendapati 300,000 belia termasuk kalangan penuntut institusi pengajian tinggi di negara ini terbabit dalam penyalahgunaan dadah terutama jenis Ecstasy dan syabu. Ketua Pengarah AADK, Datuk Abd Bakir Zin, berkata kebanyakan mereka yang terjebak dalam kancah itu disebabkan terpengaruh dengan ajakan rakan sebaya selain daripada pengaruh persekitaran. Beliau berkata, berikutan itu, pihaknya akan memberi tumpuan kepada institusi pendidikan bagi menyebarkan maklumat kepada generasi muda mengenai keburukan penyalahgunaan dadah

They also perceived the teacher care when the teacher know who they are. They know you care when they feel listened to and their thought and feelings are taken seriously. Jadi .kemahiran kemesraan (warmth) perlu ada pada diri kita.

Counseling With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a counseling approach based on research and soundly supports its effectiveness. The principles of this approach come from understanding how the brain functions, how people respond, and the practice of altering responses. One of the many positive features of this approach is the ability to develop solutions for present day problems in a relatively short span of time. CBT can also play a significant role in the healing of past unresolved issues

Based on this thinking/evaluation process, you (in the brain/mind) choose a BEHAVIOR in response. Here is an example:
EVENT: Husband is late for dinner

EVALUATION Thought
Worry that he could be hurt or have been in an accident What an inconsiderate jerk, he knows I have so much to do He has been late a lot recently maybe he is having an affair He's been late a lot recently, work must be difficult right now.

BEHAVIOR Emotion
Fear Sadness Frustration Anger Fear Sadness Neutral emotions Call hospital ERs, Call police, pace house Wait impatiently. When he arrives chew him out Go through desk for evidence, accuse him when he arrives When he arrives, ask about work, give understanding.

I can use the time to do something else that needs doing.

Relaxation

Finish a project while waiting. When he arrives have dinner.

The same event can produce several different evaluations. These lead to a large variation of behavior response. Along with this goes multiple emotional states and levels of peace.

How it can help


Counseling with CBT is not based on empathetic listening to your problems. It is active and often directive. The focus is on the behaviors and thoughts that are underlying what you expereince as a problem.This does not mean it is cold, calculating and clinical. There is a high level of concern for what you are going through. Cogntive Behavioral Therapy focuses on direct solutions to get you out of your negative situation.

Crucial to CBT theory is the fact that your mind (brain) does most of this work outside of your focused awarness, automatically. You can, however, take control of what the brain focuses upon.
Example: Are you aware of the pressure on your bottom against your chair?
You probably weren't until I asked the question. To answer the question you chose

to focus on that sensory input - one that normally is filtered.

Each Moment is a Gift

Life is a collection of moments.


They are all important. They all count. After we leave them, each of these moments is gone forever. Guilt is nothing more than wasting todays precious moments on something that cant be changed from the past. Worry is nothing more than wasting todays precious moments on something that may or may not happen in the future. Today is all we have. We need to live all of todays moments. Today is a gift.

Thats why its called "the present."
