BATCH PROCESSING

ABOUT
Batch processing is execution of a series of programs on a computer without manual intervention. It is also used when a particular job needs to be done in one go rather than in a number of parts

It has the advantage that once all the inputs are ready and the program has been selected, the computer can just get only the job.

USES
Producing attendance statistics from attendances recorded on OMR forms. Producing bills for water, gas, telephone and electricity companies. Marking multiple-choice examination papers.

ONLINE PROCESSING

ABOUT
Its the newest form of processing. It automatically updates when a transaction (change) happens. The system always contain up to date information.

USES
Booking system (for airline, holidays, concerts and theater tickets) Ordering good over the internet (amazon.com, ebay.com) Banking transaction such as withdrawing money from an ATM, making a payment using internet banking.

REAL-TIME PROCESSING

ABOUT
It is an example of online processing and it is used where it is essential and the results are obtained immediately with no delay. It responds immediately and alerts with no delay. It works with the help of sensors.

USES
Flood warning system Autopilots for aircraft Simulators
