OVER FOUR THOUSAND YEARS AGO

stood the Kingdom of Egypt

Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.
Exod 1:8

And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick,

and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour. Ex. 1:14

But there was good news

because the time of their deliverance was at hand.

One day, the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the rivers side;

and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. Ex. 2:5

And when she had opened it, she saw the child; and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews children. vs. 6

And the child grew, and became a Prince in Egypt.

But Moses slew an Egyptian, and had to flee from the face of Pharaoh.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of their bondage

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian:

and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. Exod 3:1

And Moses saw the Burning Bush, that it was all aglow and burning.

And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. Exod 3:3

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush:

and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. Exod 3:2

Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. Exod.3:10 Exod.3:10

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee:

When When thou thou hast hast brought brought forth forth the the people people out out of of Egypt, Egypt, ye ye shall shall serve serve God God upon upon this this mountain. mountain.
Exod. Exod. 3:12 3:12

and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying:

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
9 According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
