Background
Diabetic autonomic neuropathy (DAN) is a common complication of diabetes mellitus. Manifestations of DAN include erectile dysfunction, orthostatic hypotension, gastroparesis, etc. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. The etiology of ED are vasculogenic, psychogenic, neurogenic and endocrinologic disease.
Aims
To know the association between severity of ED and DAN in diabetic patients in Semarang Hospital.
A cross sectional study Subjects are diabetic patients, age<55 years-old, came to Semarang Hospital during April - June 2013. The IIEF questionnaire were used for ED evaluation Cathegorized ED in to : negative ED (score 22), mild ED (score 17-21), mild to moderate ED (score 12-16), moderate ED (score 8-11) severe ED (score 7).
Pressure (BP) measurement in stand up and bed position for DAN. Confirmed DAN if systolic or diastolic BP was different at the first and second examination. Data were analyzed with SPSS.
Results
We collected 35 subjects, Positive ED were 30 subjects (85,7%). Mean score of ED were 12.375,493 Minimum score 5 and maximum score 24.

Conclusions
Our study showed that there were no association between ED and DAN, and also severity of ED and DAN.
