The year 2013-14 described as


higher growth leading to inclusive and sustainable development

The sector provided employment to 55% of the workforce. 43% of India's geographical area is used for agriculture activity. Agriculture exports from April to December, 2012 have crossed to 1,38,403 cr.

AGRICULTURE credit Agricultural credit is the driver of agricultural production.

In 2012-13, total food grain production will be over 250 million tones. Minimum support price of every agricultural produce under the procurement programmed has been increased significantly under the UPA Government.

AGRICULTURE LOAN RATE


The interest subvention scheme for short-term crop loans will be continue and a farmer who repays the loan on time will be able to get credit at 4 percent per annum. the scheme has been applied to loans extended by public sector banks, regional rural bank and cooperative banks.

GREEN REVOLUTION
Bringing the green revolution to eastern India has been a remarkable success. Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal have increased their contribution to rice production. they propose to continue to support the eastern Indian States with an allocation of Rs.1000 crore in 2013-14.

NEW PATH CROP DIVERCIFICATION


The original Green Revolution States face the problem of stagnating yields and overexploitation of water resources. The answer lies in crop diversification. they propose to allocate Rs.500 crore to start a programme of crop diversification that would promote technological innovation and encourage farmers to choose crop alternatives.

The Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is intended to mobilise higher investment in agriculture and the National Food Security Mission is intended to bridge yield gaps. they propose to provide `9,954 crore and `2,250 crore, respectively, for these two programmes.

WATERSHED MANAGEMENT
Watershed management is crucial to improve productivity of land and water use. they propose to increase the allocation for the integrated watershed programme from `3,050 crore in 2012-13 (BE) to `5,387 crore.

PILOT PROGRAMME ON NUTRI-FARMS

they propose to provide a of `200 crore to start the pilots on nutri-farms.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BIOTIC STRESS MANAGEMENT This will be the first institute of address the impact of biotic stress and harness potentials of emerging tool of biotechnology in agriculture

The National Institute of Biotic Stress Management (NIBSM) at Raipur (Chhattisgarh) is proposed to be established as a deemed University with the following schools:

School I - Crop Health Management Research School II - Crop Health Biology Research (CHBR) School III - Crop Resistance System Research (CRSR) School IV- Crop Health Policy-Support Research (CHPR)

The Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology will be established at Ranchi, Jharkhand. The Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology serve as a centre of excellence in agricultural biotechnology.

FARMER PRODUCE ORGANIZATIONS

FARMER PRODUCER COMPANIES


FPO & FPC have emerged as aggregators of farm produce and link farmers directly to markets. FM provide grants to registered FPOs up to maximum of Rs 10 lakh per FPO to enable them to leverage working capital from financial institutions. FM urge state Governments to support such FPO FM provide Agriculture business corporation RS 100 crore to create Credit Guarantee Fund for small farmer.

PILOT SCHEME TO REJUVENATE COCONUT GARDEN


P.Chindaram widen up the area of pilot scheme of coconut garden to entire Kerala state This scheme cover Andaman & Nicobar too Finance Minister provide 75 crore to support the scheme

NATIONAL LIVESTOCK MISSION


National Live stock Mission will be launched in 2013-2014 to attract investment . It enhance productivity taking into account local agro-climatic conditions. Finance Minister propose to provide Rs. 307 crore for the Mission. There will be sub mission for increasing the availability of feed and fodder.

National livestock mission include following policy improving livestock production and processing infrastructure. Provisions for increasing availability of feed and fodder for enhancing productivity of the livestock sector. Provisions to address major challenges of the livestock sector like shortage of feed and fodder, low productivity, livestock health and knowledge gap etc.

FOOD SECURITY BILL


Food security is as much a basic human right to education or the right to health care. This bill know as Sri Sonia Gandhi dream Mission to ensure the Food security

FOOD SECURITY BILL


Food security Bill will be provided 3 kg to 7 kg grain to each house which covered under the criteria as economic position of family in these Bill. Impact of these Food Security Bill Have to increase grain production Have to avoid the corruption in distribution system India have to decrease export of grain Need of extra grain for these food is approximately 3 Million tone.

WEALTH TAX ACT, 1957


FM edited wealth tax act section 2 (EA) In which he rectified urban land definition where they implemented 2 km & 8 km limit The land under above criteria liable to pay wealth tax. RS 30,00,000 above land have to pay 1 % wealth tax.

AMENDMENTS IN CENTRAL EXCISE ACT 1944

FULL EXEMPTION FROM EXCISE DUTY IS BEING PROVIDED ON TAPIOCA SAGO ( SABUDANA)

AMENDMENTS IN CUSTOM ACT 1962


FM proposal involving changes in rates of duty
1 Basic custom duty on oat grain is being reduced from 30 % to 15 %. 2 Basic custom duty on hazel nuts is being reduced from 30 % to 10 %. 3 Export duty of 10 % on de-oiled rice bran oil cake is being withdrawn.
