As well as providing mobile services across 19 countries in South Asia and Africa. Airtel is currently in the Maturity stage of its life cycle. Bharti Airtel is growing at an Average rate. To support this growth the operator decided to outsource its operations and concentrate on its core focus of branding and marketing.
The choice of strategy depends on the position of the organization in the life cycle In our case, the company is in the Maturity stage It is thus following a combination of Systems approach and Goal Oriented Approach .
It has now established itself well, now they are focusing on maintaining its market share with expanding its market across the globe.
STRATEGIC DIMENSIONS
Innovation, along with Market Differentiation is the strategic dimension of Airtel Innovation in terms of the varied plans and promotional schemes it keeps on offering to its customers. Market Differentiation is in terms of promotional campaigns and marketing strategy and also providing a good network connectivity.
We can say that Airtel is a Defenders because it has highest market share 30% in terms of customer base and they are more focusing on retaining their existing customers. They are trying to defend their customer base by increasing their geographical presence. EX. They acquired Zain Telecom of Africa which had major presence in African continent which enable them to increase their customer base.
STRUCTURAL DIMENSIONS
Airtel is having a vertical and Spatial differentiation. As it is in the telecom sector, it can increase its profit by increasing the number of subscriptions and Number of subscriptions can be increased by geographical expansion only. In telecom sector there are many level of hierarchy for ex. Starting from Top level management to Retail mobile shops.
Inputs: Terminals, Telecommunication Channels, Radio masts and towers The output is the finished product, in this case a network connection, This network connection is then passes on to the customers The customers are giving feedback to the Government, which then regulates by TRAI.
The revenues received from the customers are then used by the organization in repaying the financial institutions, payment of salaries and payment to the suppliers This way we can say that the input-output process in Airtel is steady state If External factors will change, the organization will not stop working (negative entropy) as it is continues working in nature.
