Specific standards established by specialized committee
with participation of stakeholders and other beneficiaries in
guidance with international standards and in preservation of
the cultural particularity of the nation. Including the minimum
knowledge and skills to be gained by the graduates from the
educational programme (s).

Academic standards

Specific standards decided by the institution, and


informed by external (National and/or International)
references and including the minimum knowledge and skills
to be gained by the graduates from the programme as well
as fulfilling the stated mission of the institution.

Glossary Attributes

The set of characteristics (knowledge, skills, attitudes,


ethics etc.), that the graduate must have to fulfill through
educational programme.Which qualify him for employment
and/or further education and academic research at an
appropriate level in the relevant field.

A general statement of the professional
role of a Veterinarian will include

• Maintenance and promotion of good animal, birds and fish health.

• The origin diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and

injury as well as their impact on animals

• Increasing animal, birds and fish production.

• Maintaining human health, food and environment safety

• He is proactive in ensuring the currency and relevance of

knowledge and skills


The attributes of a veterinarian

• The graduate has a profound knowledge and understanding of


normal animal, poultry and fish structure and function, as well
as abnormalities that occur in common diseases.
• The graduate has the skills of animal management and behavior
within a safe environment.
• The graduate can diagnose, assess, prevent and treat common
and important animal diseases in a variety of settings.
• The graduate contributes in solving complex animal diseases, welfare
and environmental problems in the surrounding society.
• The graduate contributes in increasing understanding in the society by
application of scientific methods in research and analysis working
collaborative with other professionals
The attributes of a veterinarian

6. The graduate operates with respect for the legal and other
regulations and applies the Veterinary code of practice including
ethics.
7. The graduate has a profound knowledge and understanding on
the economic impact and factors on delivery of animal health
care, as well as nutrition and nutritional standards.
8. The graduate has the appropriate professional and personal
attitudes and behavior, including critical evaluation, curiosity and
life long learning skills as well as ethical and legal frame of
medical practice.
9. The graduate is proficient in basic veterinary clinical skills and
interpret the findings to demonstrate competence in the
performance of basic technical procedures.
