How to Prevent Tooth Illness

Dental Plaque
Dental plaque is a biofilm, usually a pale yellow, that develops naturally on the teeth.

The way to prevent dental plaque :


Brush thoroughly at least twice a day. Floss daily to remove plaque from between your teeth and under your gumline. Limit sugary or starchy foods, especially sticky snacks. Schedule regular dental visits for professional cleanings and dental examinations.

Stomatitis
Stomatitis is inflammation that occurs in the mucosa (inner cheek) the mouth, usually in the form of yellowish white spots.

The way to prevent stomatitis:


Try to always maintain the cleanliness of the mouth and teeth. Be careful when brushing your teeth so as not to cause sores in the mouth. Avoid eating food that is too hot.

Dental Caries
Dental caries or cavities, also known as tooth decay, occur when plague, the sticky substance that forms on teeth, combines with the sugars and / or starches of the foods that we eat.

The way to prevent dental caries :


Brush your teeth twice a day. Floss daily. Eat healthy. Visiting your dentist for regular check ups and cleanings. Use a mouthrinse.

Gingivitis
Gingivitis is the term used for the inflammation of gum tissues, a non-destructive form of periodontal disease.

The way to prevent gingivitis :


Practice good oral hygiene with proper tooth brushing techniques and the usage of floss and mouthwash. Make regular appointments with your dentist to clean the teeth every 6 months. Maintain good general health by having proper nutrition and exercise. Stop smoking. Consume vitamin C.

Periodontitis
Periodontitis is a multifactor disease that causes infection and inflammation supporting tissues such as bone, gum, periodontal ligament.

The way to prevent periodontitis:


Brushing teeth and using mouthwash. Control to the doctor every 6 month. Scalling to releasing calculus and plaque.

Glossitis
Glossitis is a condition in which the tongue is swollen and changes color, often making the surface of the tongue appear smooth.

The way to prevent glossitis:


Brush your teeth thoroughly at least twice a day and floss at least once a day. Dont forget to clean the tongue after eating. Avoid irritants (such as hot or spicy foods, alcohol, and tobacco) to reduce any tongue discomfort.

Xerostomia
Xerostomia is not a disease but can be a symptom of certain diseases. The symptom of dryness in the mouth, which may be associated with a change in the composition of saliva or reduced salivary flow.

The way to prevent xerostomia :


Sucking on sugar-free candy or chewing sugar-free gum. Drinking plenty of water to help keep your mouth moist. Protecting your teeth by brushing with a flouridetoothpaste, using a fluoride rinse, and visiting your dentist regularly. Breathing through your nose, not your mouth, as much as possible.

Dental Calculus
Calculus arises as a result of our bad habits in maintaining oral health. Pre-calculus makes us restless mouth and make our teeth broken.

The way to prevent dental calculus


Regular brushing after meals and before bed. Ofter consume fruits and vegetables rich in fiber. Avoid the bad habit of smoking. Control to the dentist every 6 months. Consumption of foods containing xylitol.

Bad breath (Halitosis)


Bad breath or halitosis is breath that has an unpleasant odor. This odor can strike periodically or be persistent, depending on the cause. The millions of bacteria that live in the mouth (particularly on the back of the tongue) are the primary causes of bad breath.

The way to prevent bad breath (halitosis)


Daily maintenance calls for brushing your teeth, tongue and gums after meals, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwashes. Bad breath also can be combated by drinking plenty of water every day to encourage saliva production. Other products that keep breath fresh and prevent plaque from forming include sugar-free gum, sugarless lozenges, raw carrots and celery.
