Theme : World of self, family and friends Topic : I Spy Focus : Listening and Speaking L/S : 1.1.1, 1.1.

2 Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: 1) identify and recognise phoneme ck and the words that end with it. Teaching Aids: picture cards, word cards

SET INDUCTION: 1) Revise on previous phonemes. (s,d,r,p,l) - pupils play BINGO. 2) Pupils are introduced to the phoneme ck. - Pupils play Hangman.

TEACH 1: 1) Pupils are introduced to the ck sound with action. 2) Pupils say the sound and do the action. 3) Pupils play thumbs up, thumbs down.

PRACTICE 1
1) Pupils are divided into 2 groups. 2) Pupils play Chinese Whisper - Teacher whispers a word to the 1st person in the line. The pupil will whisper the same word to the person standing next to him/her. - The last person will say the word out loud.

TEACH 2:

1) Pupils study and try to name the pictures, with guidance. -drilling 2) Pupils play Kims Game 3) Pupils are introduced to the words.

PRACTICE 2: 1) Pupils play I Spy. - Teacher pastes the pictures and words around the class. - Teacher say the word and pupils need to point at the correct picture. 1) Pupils play Board Bash

Theme : World of self, family and friends Topic : I Spy Focus : Reading L/S : 2.1.1, 2.1.2 Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: 1) identify and recognise the phoneme ck and the words that end with it. Teaching Aids: picture cards, word cards CCE : Multiple intelligence

SET INDUCTION 1) Revise the previous lesson learnt. 2) Pupils say the sounds together with the actions based on sound cards shown.

TEACH 1: 1) Pupils are introduced to the ck sound. 2) Pupils make the sound and the action based on sound card.

PRACTICE 1
1) Pupils form a circle.

2) Music is played, and pupils pass around a sound box. 3) When the music stops, a pupil will pick a sound card. 4) Pupil will say the sound along with the action.

TEACH 2
1) Pupils are introduced to pictures and words. 2) Then the pictures and words are pasted on the board. 3) Pupils read all the words.

PRACTICE 2
1) Pupils play domino using the words and

pictures taught before.

LESSON PLAN(Writing)
Theme: World of Self, Family and Friends Topic: I spy Focus: Writing Time: 60 minutes Learning Standard(s): 3.1.2 (d) {SK & SJK} Objective(s): By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

i. fill in the missing letters correctly ii. match pictures to words; and iii. write the correct words based on the pictures provided to complete the text.

Teaching Aid(s): worksheets, picture cards, jigsaw puzzle Cross Curricular Element(s): Multiple Intelligence, Creativity and Innovation

Introduction: a. Greet pupils. b. Pupils reply. Set Induction: a. Pupils are divided into two groups and they need to complete a jigsaw puzzle. b. Pupils need to display the jigsaw puzzle on the board. (Appendix 1) c. Pupils need to name the picture they recognise.(Duck)

Step 1: a. Pupils are distributed with worksheet and they work in pairs. b. Pupils fill in the missing letters with guidance based on the picture provided .(Appendix 2)

Step 2: a.Pupils will be distributed with picture cards and word cards. B.Pupils are randomly selected to come forward . C. Pupils need to find their pairs to match the picture card to the word card correctly. Appendix 3 D.Pupils say the words with correct pronunciation .

Step 3 Rebus Activity. Pupils are shown a mahjong paper with pictures. Pupils identify the picture given and write the correct words to complete a text. Pupils read the completed story out loud Appendix 4

Closure Leave the class by thanking the pupils. Pupils respond appropriately. Teacher summarizes what has been learnt today.

LESSON PLAN (Language Arts)


Theme: World of Self, Family and Friends Topic: I Spy Focus: Language Arts Learning Standard(s): 4.1.2, 4.3.1 {SK & SJK} Objective(s): By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: i) Sing the song out loud. ii) Complete a duck mask. Teaching Aid(s): letter and picture cards, song lyrics, duck mask Cross Curricular Element(s): Music, Creativity and Innovation

Introduction: a. Greet pupils. b. Pupils reply. Set Induction: a. Pupils are divided into two groups and each group is given a set of jumbled up letters. b. On the board, there are two incomplete sentences with two pictures each. c. Each group has to rearrange the letters and complete the sentences based on the pictures pasted.

Step 1: a. Pupils listen to a song and repeat it out loud. b. Later, pupils sing the song together using the tune of Are You Sleeping. c. In the same group, pupils have an intergroup singing competition. (Group 1 sings lines 1 and Group 2 sings lines 2). d. Pupils replace the underlined words with other words of the same phoneme ck learnt previously.

Step 2: a. Each pupil is provided with a paper card of a duck mask template. b. Pupils colour the mask based on their own creativity. c. Wearing the completed mask, the pupils sing the song together again. Closure: Leave the class by thanking the pupils. Pupils respond appropriately.
