Cell Organization !

SCIENCE Giulia Bennett #3 5-C

The cell is the basic unit of life. It has

groups of cells. The groups are: cells>
tissues> organs> organ system> organism.

This is when a group of

cells get together and
form a groups with a
different name. They are a
much bigger organization.
CELLS
CELLS
There are many types of cells. I
going to mention 2 types of cells,
plant cells and animal cells . All
living organisms on earth are
divided in pieces called cells.
There are smaller pieces to cell
that include proteins and organelles
. There are also larger pieces
called tissues and system . Cells
are small compartment that hold all
of the biological equipment
necessary to keep an organism alive
and successful on earth. A main
purpose of a cell is to be
organized.
Tissues
be grouped into 4 different types . The animals have 4 tissue
ssue is a cell comprising the central nervous system.
Organ
An Organ is a group of one or more kinds of tissues that
work together to perform the same function.
There are many organs in your body but I ‘m only going to
talk about three.
An organ I'm going to talk about is the lung.
1.Did you know oxygen is needed by the body's cells, is
absorbed
in the lungs.
The second organ I'm going to talk about is the heart.
2.The muscular heart energy giving blood to all parts of the
body.
The last organ I'm going to talk about is small intestine.
3.In the small intestine most of the nutrients from food are
absorbed in here.

Organ
System
The Organ Systems are
composed of two or more
different organs that work
together to provide a
common function. There are
ten major Organ Systems in
the human body. They are:
The Skeletal System,
Muscular System, Circulatory
System, Nervous System,
Respiratory System,
Digestive System, Excretory
System, Endocrine System,
Reproductive System (male,
female)and Lymphatic /
Immune System.
Organisms
One celled organisms do all life
processes with one cell.
One of the jobs they always do is
Store food .They always need to
grow and reproduce. Another single
cell organisms is a diatom. They
are classified as proteins is
great food for fish , wails, and
other water animals. They are
single celled organisms all around
you! There are classified as
helpful and harmful. Ex: helpful
are the bacteria's that are used
to make cheese and yogurt, harmful:
strep throat – diseases. They break
down the remains of dead plants
and animals , and they return
material from dead organisms to
the environment. In conclusion
these are one celled organisms.

SystemsSystems
The digestivesystem is one of the
human body systems . There are a lot
more like: Skeletal system, the
muscular system , the circulatory
systems, nervous system, respiratory
system, excretory system, endocrine
system, reproductive system, and
lymphatic /immune system. Those are
the systems in the human body that
help your body in many ways.

Circulatory System
• The circulatory
system moves
blood all over
your body. Your
heart some time
help your
circulatory
system.

Heart
The heart has 4 valves. A
valve is like a door. When 2
valves are open 2 are closed
then 2 open and 2 close and
so on. The heart has
chambers , they are: the
left atrium ,the right
atrium, the left ventricle,
and the right ventricle. The
heart pumps blood to the
body by squeezing itself.
The heart’s job is to pump
blood to all of the parts of
the body. It beats more
than 72 times per minute.
It is the organ that never
tires until you die. In all of
your life it could beat more

Veins and
Arteries
Veins : veins function is to return
poorly oxygenated blood to the
heart. The thick outer layer of the
vein is made of collagen , and the
interior has epithelial cells
called intima. Most veins have flaps
called venous valves that prevent
blood from flowing back. The precise
location of veins is much more
variable from person to person
than the arteries.

Arteries : arteries are blood

vessels that carry blood away from
the heart and gives oxygen to other
parts of the body. Arteries have
three layers a muscular middle
layer, a tissue outer layer, and an
inner smooth layer. The muscular
middle layer helps the heart to
pump blood.
The Respiratory System
The respiratory system
brings oxygen to the blood,
and removes carbon dioxide
from it.
They are the central organs.
The air goes through tubes
called bronchi.
Then they come into smaller
tubes called alveoli.
Alveoli is surrounded by
capillaries. Oxygen passes
from alveoli into blood and
carbon dioxide from blood
to alveoli. Air moves well
because of changing of the
chest. When you inhale the
diaphragm goes down and
SEBASTIAN TORRES 5-C when you exhale the
diaphragm goes up and
relaxes.
Inhale and Exhale
By: Giuliana Di Bono

-When you breathe in, your diaphragm is

relaxed.
-When you inhale, your diaphragm is pulling
downward and with combined contraction.
-When you breathe in, air goes into your
mouth or nose.
-The lungs fill up with air and send out air.
-You breath in and out by the nose or mouth.
-the blood picks up fresh oxygen from air you
need and drops of carbon dioxide.
-You get rid of carbon dioxide by breathing
out or you exhale.
Digestive System

out of your body . Digestion is mixing food wit

Digestion Process
By: Naomi
Frey 5c The digestive system changes food so
the body can use it. The digestive
process begins in the mouth then teeth
bite and chew the food in to small
pieces and saliva makes the food
softer. After that, you swallow the food
and it goes into the esophagus. Food
moves through the esophagus and into
the stomach, the food becomes a thick
paste. The stomach moves the food into
the small intestine. Food slowly moves
through the small intestine. Enzymes
helps break the food into tiny parts.
The food becomes a liquid. The body
absorbs the parts of the food it needs.
The food parts go into the blood. Blood
carries the food parts to all the body.
The body does not use some parts of the
food. This waste matter moves into the
large intestine. It pushes the waste
out of the body. Food is your fuel. Your
body gets energy from your food.
Vitamins, proteins, and fats also give
you nourishment.

Nervous System
Definition:Nervous
system is the part
of brain that
controls your
senses your
thoughts
involuntary and Your nervous system controls your
voluntary actions. physical and mental activites. It is
divided in three parts .One of them
controls your heartbeats and your
breathing. It controls your involuntary
body parts. You cannot control this
part of the nervous system. The second
part controls your voluntary actions.
It controls your voluntary actions .It
controls thoughts and organizes
activity. The last part controls your
senses of smell, sight, sound, taste and
touch.
THE BRAIN By Hector Lorenzo
5C

-the brain controls your body.

-it is soft, wet and wrinkled
-made up of 10 billion nerve cells and 50
billion other cells
-it coordinates most voluntary movement it
monitors and regulate body process.
-a lot of parts of the brain do different
things.
-humans brains are more complex than animal
brains
-the parts of the brain are: cerebellum,
cerebrum, brain stem, pituitary gland , and
hypothalamus
-The brain floats in liquid
-The brain receives all the messages of your
body
-Without your brain you couldn't do anything.
-Your brain helps you do everything
-The largest part of your brain is the
cerebrum
-The second largest section is the cerebellum
-The tiniest section is the brain stem
Musculatory S ystem
The musculatory system is important because it
allows the skeleton of the body to move. The
muscles also play other important role. Such as
giving form to the body, regulating the body's
temperature and controlling the blood flow of the
body. There are three types of muscle tissue :
cardiac, smooth and skeletal. Cardiac muscle is a
muscle tissue that is used in the heart. The
cardiac muscle tissue is very strong ant it
contracts automatically under the influence of the
heart itself without the control of the brain.
-Smooth Muscle can be found in the walls of the
blood vessels digestive passageways such as the
esophagus and the small and large intestines. It
functions by providing a series of wavelike
contractions known as peristalsis . Smooth muscle
contractions are regulated by the autonomic part of
the nervous system meaning that contractions cannot
be controlled by conscious thought.
-Skeletal Muscle is the type that makes up all of
the muscles attached to the skeleton and allow its
movement.
Skeletal muscles all have a origin and a insertion.
Without the musculatory system we couldn’t do
anything.
Muscles
r type of muscles. The smooth. It is called involuntary muscl
The Skeletal System
The skeletal system gives your body shape,
it protects the parts that are inside your
body, and it helps you move and stand. It is
made of bones and the bones are very hard.
The hollow spaces make your bones very
light and the skull bones protect your eyes,
brain and your ears. The rib bones are very
flat and it protects your heart lungs, and
the stomach. The other thing is that the
spine is an arrow of small bones in the
back and it protects the spinal cord. The
hand has a lot of little bones.
Connective Tissues(Tendons and
Ligaments)
•Tendon : Strong band of
connective tissues, that puts
a muscle together with a
bone.
•Ligament :A tough band of
tissues connecting bones, or
Connective Tissue
supporting an organ or joint
in place.

•Wiggle your fingers. See
something moving, those are
your tendons. They join a
Ligament
knee
and tendon of a
muscle with a bone, that is
why we have our fingers put
together to our palm. If we
didn’t have tendons we could
not move well, because they
connect
Valeria
muscles to bones.

Gabriel Zuniga 5-C The Endocrine
System
The rush of energy you feel when you are
frightened or excited is produced by the
endocrine system. The endocrine system
consist of glands. A gland is an organ
that send a chemicals messengers called
hormones to other parts of the body.
Hormones affect activity of cells far from
where they are produced. They diffuse into
the blood and are carried from where they
are needed. The body produces many types
of hormones. Each one acts on a specific
type of cell. Endocrine glands are located
through the body. The thyroid gland which
is located in the neck region controls the
body metabolism, or how cells provide
energy. The adrenal glands, which are
located above each kidney are involved in
the body’s reaction to dangerous or
frightening situations, and the pancreas
which are in the abdomen maintain blood
sugar level.
Excretory System
The excretory system is
responsible for ridding the
body’s waste. It also
recall that undigested food
it is removed from the
large intestine. It is
called the excretory system
because it takes over for
the digestive system and
flushes the waste from the
digestive track. The
excretory system plays a
very important roll. Without
it wastes it would
quickly poison the body.
Keeping
Healthy
•Healthy is a way of life. It
helps us prevent germs,
allergies, and getting
sick. Washing hands is the
most important resource of
healthy. You contain
millions of germs on your
hand; you eat, touch, play,
write and other things
with your hands. There are
many ways to get healthy;
your stomach need proteins
every day. So people eat
many important foods like
vegetables and fruits.
Diet and
Exercise
Keeping
oods that have vitamins gives cells the nutrients they need. Exercise keeps muscle
