In general terms, the Present Simple is used to describe permanent


and repeated events or actions.

• Fact: Lions live in Africa .


• Habit: My brother bites his nails.
• Routine: I go to work at 8:00 every day.

Present Continuous

When something has begun and is still going on.


Always together with to be and at the end of the verb with (-ing)
- I am always working hard.
- I am looking forward to friday.
- I am going home late.

When something has been completed, but is still important.


Always together with to have
- I have had
- I have been
- I have done

Present Perfect Continuous

When something started in the past and has continued up until now.
Always together with to have been and at the end of the verb with (-ing)
- I have been working

- I have been learning
- I have been developing this since ..
